hi. i'm flutiemcd. i have many interests... they're all floating around in my little head and make me the nut that i am.

i am a former high school english teacher. i LOVED my job, but gave it up to raise my brand, spankin' new baby girl! which is what i do here, in texas while my hubs is out saving lives, well. out correcting deviated septums & placing ear tubes...

we live, happily, with our two dogs, bert & wallace, here in san antonio, home of the puffy taco.

i like all music, unless it is annoying and/or gives me a headache. i dislike radio.

i find this category impossible to answer... there are way too many great books out there! but, if i must, some of my faves include: the bonfire of the vanities, the poisonwood bible, a thousand splendid suns, the great gatsby, the color purple, the namesake, infidel, cat's cradle, regeneration, a midsummer night's dream, the merchant of venice, the kite runner, ovid's metamorphoses, roxana, cold mountain, into thin air, into the wild, under the banner of heaven, the adventure's of huckleberry finn, the awakening, the handmaid's tale, patricia cornwell's scarpetta series, some james patterson, the devil wears prada ...i could go on and on.

lock stock & two smoking barrels, memento, snatch, finding neverland, amelie, a river runs through it, the devil wears prada, citizen kane ...

my guilty pleasures include: project runway & the rachel zoe project. otherwise, i find myself watching planet earth... or sesame street.

i'm getting into painting & photography. i'm not any good at either, but i try my darndest.

i LOVE the outdoors. give me a mountain range & a lake and i'll consider myself in heaven.

i spent my honeymoon hiking through utah--moab, arches, dead horse, canyonlands, capitol reef, escalante, bryce, zion & everywhere in between... back to colorado springs where we hiked pike's peak and celebrated with yummy cinnamon donuts & hot apple cider.

stupidest thing i've ever done? jump out of a plane @ 14,000 feet attached to some stranger i'd only met an hour before--trusting him with my life.

the hubs and i sent in an audition tape for the very first Amazing Race and was rejected.

i've started training for several marathons & triathlons & never finished training.

i'm currently training for a half marathon, followed by a marathon, and later, a triathlon...

confession: i spend WAY too much time on the computer.

i love learning new things! a postcard naked & written on by YOU would be perfectly delightful.
