Recently I have joined the All Things Tim Holtz group on yahoo and am deep into stamping, altered tags, distress inks, die cuts and more. I have a few of his dies which I am willing to swap die cut paper or chipboard. I have a good assortment of his stamps, also willing to swap stamped images.
I am a school teacher. I love school supplies, cute folders and notebooks, big paperclips, post it notes in pretty colors, etc. Sometimes I cut up scrapbook paper to make pretty note and index cards. I am crazy about good ink pens, felt tips, markers, sharpies.
I have lots of pets, including cats, a dog, turtles and a fish. My dog is a Mini Schnauzer, salt and pepper color. He is about 18 pounds. He is passionate about squeaky toys and loves to wrestle with a stuffed alligator. My cats are Siamese types-- I am fond of Oriental cats.
I love to go to the beach and always bring home some sand and shells from the places I have visited. I like to display them in jars and bowls around the house. I also enjoy wooden bird carvings of beach birds. I enjoy collecting beach postcards of scenic views and birds of the shore.
I am interested in Americana items—flags and stars, red, white and blue items.
I collect bird houses and nests. I feed the birds in the winter and enjoy watching them around the feeder.
I have a room full of wool-- wool sweaters, wool fabrics, wool projects, wool yarn. I use a Sizzix machine to die cut shapes that I make into lapel pins and brooches, wall hangings and wool applique art. I have made penny rugs and penny rug type decorative mats. I make wool flowers using felted wool. I hand-dye wool in my own kitchen using Koolaid and Wilton cake dyes. I cut up felted sweaters and other wool garments to make hats, pouches, purses, eyeglass cases, etc. I have dabbled in needlefelting using wool roving. I also occasionally do needlepoint with persian wool.
Since April I have been into quilting. I use charm pack squares and strips of fabric mostly to make lap sized quilts. I have been learning how to machine quilt the tops I have made. I also make wall hangings from fabric panels. My favorite fabric designers are Tula Pink, Deb Strain, Sandy Gervais, Henry Alexander, Michael Miller and others. I love the fabric from the Moda Company. I like embellishing my wall hangings with buttons from my stash.
One day I hope to attend the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City. I love to watch dog shows and am interested in many different breeds of dogs. I love art with dogs, funny dog post cards, etc. I love the terriers the most! Corgis and Austrailian Cattle Dogs, too. And of course all 3 types of Schnauzers!
I like jewelry strung on cords—I have a metal allergy and cannot wear chains.
Candy-- I love most kinds, just not cherry flavored. Chocolate is welcome in the winter time--too hot for it to mail now.
Sugarless gum is welcome, too!
