I am a thirtysomething female who loves to knit. I am married, and we have three dogs – a chihuahua, a pomeranian mix, and a jack russell terrier mix. I currently live in Arizona, but I miss the south, where I grew up. I miss the green plants, the architecture, the food – the only thing I do not miss is the humidity!
I like to be transported to a different world when I read. Mostly escapist reading, and lots of favorites from my childhood.
Harry Potter
Twilight Series
Douglas Adams – Hitchhiker’s Guide Trilogy
Jim Butcher – Harry Dresden series
L.M. Montgomery – Anne series, Emily of New Moon series
Harriet the Spy
Jane Austen
Anne Rice
I like happy endings, and movies that make me laugh. My favorite movie of all time is Love, Actually – I can never decide which story is my favorite! Other faves:
Any Jane Austen movie, especially the Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth
Nightmare before Christmas
Dogma
Princess Bride
Young Frankenstein
An Ideal Husband
Harry Potter, all movies – I have taken a vacation day every time a movie is released, I love these!
80’s movies – Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Sixteen Candles, Better Off Dead, Say Anything
Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Fortunately, my husband is similarly addicted. We watch the entire series at least once per year, and once, we started with episode 1 as soon as we finished the series finale. We both admit we have a problem, but have not moved on to wanting to do anything about it.
Any Joss Whedon series – Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Dollhouse
House M.D.
X-Files
Heroes
Charmed
Dead Like Me
Knitting! I love to knit socks, and I like handpainted yarns, especially Blue Moon Fiber Arts “Socks that Rock†yarn.
Paper crafts – cards, scrapbooks, altered books
Reading
Cooking and baking
DIY home decorating projects
Holiday crafts, especially Halloween and Christmas
Collecting more hobbies!
I enjoy a pretty wide range of music, including pop, swing, big band, classical and broadway. My favorite is Phantom of the Opera, and I have seen the show live six times so far.
Tea, especially herbal
Lemon flavors
Colors – forest green, deep purple
Candles
Natural yarn (wool, silk, alpaca)
Chocolate
Recipe cards, especially for no-fail family favorites
Butterflies
Craft Zines
Gel pens
Unique stationery
