hesedetang prounounced as "her-ser-the-tang" – means "brown sugar" in Mandarin.
I am located in sunny Singapore and my name is Debbie.
I am a thirtysomething Christian. I am also a business person trying out new things and living life on the edge.
As of April 2015, I am now a certified Zentangle teacher, building a practice in Singapore.
I run a series of international ZIA swaps on SB, and I have been very fortunate to meet a lovely group of swappers here. So much talent goes into these swaps! We can be found on Pinterest.
What is Zentangle? There are no short answers to this, as you will see on Zentangle.com. Zentangle is an art method that promotes mindfulness and relaxation.
Since graduating from the 18th Certified Zentangle Teachers Seminar in Rhode Island, I have been teaching Zentangle classes in Singapore and have been very fortunate to meet some very inspiring people. I am very happy to be on this new adventure :)
This is my Flickr album devoted to tangles.
I enjoy making jewelry and I have an online shopfront where most of my creations reside. I also have a Facebook Page
I have been making jewelry since 2006 for friends and family, but only started to sell them in 2014. It is cathartic and helps me get through times when I am highly stressed.
I like to up-cycle random parts from pre-loved or store-bought jewelry and include these as features in my creations. I make sure that I clean and sterilise every component manually, before I re-work them into any design. I like how unique the end product becomes - it is truly one of a kind. Up-cycling is a fascinating process and I am fairly addicted. That said, I will only swap jewelry with new, silver tone components and features, to avoid any unhappiness.
I love working with antiqued brass in my jewel craft, though I understand most people like silver tone. Hence I will swap silver tone unless specifically requested otherwise :)
I also love electroplated glass suncatcher beads [they can be half or full silver, AB plated or rainbow] and tibetan silver charms. I feature these very often in my work.
I like flea markets and craft fairs, especially if they are in benefit of a good cause. In July 2014 I took my little shop on the road for the first time ever ^_^ and I must say what a wonderful adventure it was. I now have a few more fairs coming up ;)
My shop updates, including discount codes, may be found here on the FB page.
First off, I do not have any intentions to flake or skip out on commitments at all. I am located in Singapore, where our national mail carrier is highly efficient and effective (I do not work for them lol).
100% of my outgoing International mail is sent by airmail, 100% of the time.
If something has not arrived after a reasonable timeframe, please let me know so I can resend :) I already do several swap and non-swap post-runs a week, and so does my business partner -- so a quick re-send is no issue.
I appreciate open and honest communication at all times.
I actively decide to participate in or host fewer swaps and go for quality instead of having so many swaps which would eventually cause me to not even remember who my swap partners were.
I also promise to rate. Let me know if I have not rated and I will check to see if I received your package. If I have missed something, anything! do let me know!
I like photography, especially macro photography. Waterdroplets are one of my favourite photography subjects.
White is my favourite colour, and I like neutral shades like grey and teal.
I listen to J-pop and K-pop, and have a K-drama addiction :)
I am partial to animals. I have two Ragamuffin kittens [Dyllis and Dexter] and three hamsters. I have an active Hamstery and my Roborovski line is awaiting it's 9th generation.
I like to look at photography featuring Asian ball jointed dolls [BJDs] and Blythes. However, I only collect LaTiDoll Yellow 16cm dolls, as larger ones creep me out in real life. I do have a Blythe and a LaTiDoll Green 30cm doll but I reckon they'd each be my first and my last of their kind. [The said Blythe and LG dolls have both found loving new homes :) ]
I collect Re-ment miniatures. I am happy to do a private swap if anyone is interested in Re-ment too :)
I like white, green and flower teas best. Earl grey and other fruit teas are also fine.
I am not particular about brands of tea. That said, my favourite tea brands are DavidsTea, which we cannot get here in Singapore, and Gryphon, which is a Singaporean brand. If you happen to be my swap partner and wish to try out some Gryphon tea, do let me know and I will add something from my Gryphon stash to the package :) Or we could do a private DavidsTea/Gryphon swap ;)
I like glaciers, snowflakes and snowscapes.
I love travelling. Some places I have been include USA, UK, Australia, Japan and Korea......
I would prefer not to have any cartoon character items in swaps but these are the only characters I DO love:
I appreciate thoughtful, hand-written notes instead of extras (I am quite minimalist).
I am not a fan of Ginger, Chamomile or Chai teas, and I am kind of allergic to strong coffee. [Though even if these are sent, no problem - I can simply swap them again ^^ so please do not feel too badly.]
I do not like overly pagan/religious stuff. [I am a Christian. Scripture verses are v. welcome, however.]
I do not like receiving chocolate or candy in the mail because I live in the tropics. Someone once sent me some food items that were not packaged or wrapped, in a paper mailing box. It was a serious mess and one I'd like very much to avoid in future.
Non-raters. In my time on SB, I have met a few non-raters. To me, not rating is equally rude and as bad as flaking. If someone has taken time and effort to pick out and send something, I cannot see why the receiver cannot take time to rate, barring any exigencies.
I do not like gore, violence, crass or crude images or texts in any form. I just simply do not appreciate them, even if they are made in humour.
Past and present.. Always in my heart..
