Hello!
My name is Maaike, and I am a stay at home mom, with two little ones running around. A girl, nicknamed The Munchkin, born in August 2008, and a boy, nicknamed The little Man, born in januari 2010.
My crafty efforts include crochet, cross stitch, paper crafts, bookbinding, sewing, baking... And everything else crafty. Just as long as I can decide what and how to make.
I am the proud owner of two Etsy shops, Hoppinup, selling all kinds of stuff I make, and Mjammie, selling homemade iced cookies.
Crochet: I like to make doilies. What?!? Yes, doilies. And hats. Blankets. Coasters. Anything that is not too hard and doesn't take too long to make.
Baking: cakes, cupcakes, pies, but especially cookies. The iced kind. Have a look at www.mjammie.etsy.com for more info.
Bookbinding: I always wanted to learn that! and it didn't even turn out to be hard.
Sewing: anything from quilts to stuffed animals and clothes. I usually make stuff that I want that I can't find in stores.
Paper crafts: origami, printing and drawing. Not so much cardmaking. I have had a scrapbooking obsession, but it passed.
I would love to receive:
Cookie cutters, but unusual ones. Not too small, because we love big cookies! In the US they also sell a kit to make your own cutters. One of those would be awesome and make me dance through my living room!!!
I love polkadots, checks and gingham fabrics, ribbons and cardstock. Any color really, as long as they are bright and cheery. I'm not so much into the 1930's fabrics.
Cardstock. Preferably bright colors or pastels. With a nice pattern is great too, but not the cheap looking kind, if possible.
Yarn. Cotton or wool would be great, my stash is always too small! I love natural colors, like ecru, white, beige, olive, sand colors, and shades of grey.
Ribbons and ricrac. Always enough use for that!
Buttons. I have a really large box of buttons in all shapes and sizes. Anything is welcome really.
Fabric. Any kind, shape, size, but please send me natural fibers. Cotton, wool or linnen.
Anything handmade by you!!!
A craft kit that you made yourself. I saw this in someone elses list and I loved the idea!
Old atlasses and road maps. Don't care how old. Just a few pages is great too.
Felt scraps. Especially when it is 100% wool.
Leather scraps or sheets. You can't even imagine how happy you would make me with that!!!
Crochet charts. Not patterns, but charts. I'm a visual person, and I find them much easier to work with than patterns.
Cross stitch charts and kits. Always welcome!
Floss. Like all other nice things, my stash is always too small.
Please do not send me:
Beads and beading paraphernalia. I am not into jewelry and beading, it will probably just be sent on.
No synthetic fibers please. In fabric or in yarn. I don't like the feel, smell or touch. I would not use it.
No dark 1930's print fabrics. They are too dark for me, and I would not know what to do with them.
Stickers. I don't use them. Unless of course you made them yourself. That would be cool!
No religious stuff! I can't be converted, so don't try. I'll just toss it in the bin so it's a waste of postage.
if you send me any of these items:
A cookie cutter DIY set. I know they sell these in the US, but they don't have them here in Holland. Too bad!
Junior mints!!! Aaaaaaaah!!! Maybe it's a good thing I can't buy those here.
A nice Bento box with a fork that is separate from where the food is. You know what I mean? The kind where you can put some nice fruit salad inside and still find your fork nice and clean, for instance tucked in the lid... Oooooh, I'd be forever grateful!!!
Pretty washi tape! It's like beautiful fabric: you keep it and keep it because you feel it's a waste to make something with it, and before you know it, you have a stash like mount everest and nothing to sew with... Sound familiar? Anyway, my Washi tape stash is not even the Matterhorn... So enough room for more!

Groetjes Nikki
Themed Sewing swap Seasonal #1 is here
Welcome! I love your Pinterest boards and your blog as well, you make the most beautiful things! Groetjes, Maike
