I have a BA in anthropology (linguistics minor), but I'm currently working as a software developer (very long story!). I'm insatiably curious, and love learning about everything from language and culture (hence my degree choice!), to history, science, art, music... I'm even branching out into learning about math these days (blame working in tech for that one!). I spend most of my free time reading, but I also love hiking and spending time outdoors, especially in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
I have pretty eclectic music tastes, and listen to whatever suits my mood. Lately I've been listening to a lot of acoustic stuff, folk, old jazz and blues (Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, etc.). "Girl from Ipanema" is currently on repeat in my house these days, as is Andrew Bird, The Milk Carton Kids, and Hey Marseilles. I also can't resist classic rock.
Lots. I tend to go for comedies, but also love foreign films. I've been getting into Bollywood (Indian cinema) more and more. Again, a random partial listing: * any Monty Python (tho Life of Brian and Holy Grail are the best) * Young Frankenstein * Rear Window * 10 Things I Hate About You * Ever After * Blazing Saddles * La Vita E Bella (Life is Beautiful) * Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge * Some Like it Hot * The Namesake * Serenity * pretty much all of the Marvel cinematic universe (though I'm partial to Guardians of the Galaxy)
I love way too many books to list them all (or even a small fraction of them!). That being said, I tend to go for historical fiction, fantasy, and non-fiction (language, culture, history, and a few select interesting memoirs).
I'm new to crafting, but I like writing, and am learning to crochet, weave, and make jewelry.
