UPDATE: I am currently working on trying to get out all of the swaps that I have that are past due. After getting most of them ready with just a bit of shopping left to do, I had to have emergency surgery because of a massive infection throughout my lower jaw bone. I'm still in a large amount of pain, and have been unable to finish my shopping or go to the post office, as I cannot drive while taking the medications that I am on for the pain. I do fully intent do complete all of the swaps that I have signed up for. I have dropped all of the swaps that did not have partners assigned yet, and will not be signing up for anything new until those that I have to send out are sent. I hope everyone can understand this.
FURTHER UPDATE - 11/3/2008 I thought I was getting better when my infection came back stronger, involving the other side of my jaw as well. I'm back on tons of antibiotics and a constant stream of narcotic painkillers. I'm scheduled for surgery again at the end of the week.
Hmm...what's there to say about me? I work at an outdoor education facility where I'm the assistant director. I take care of all of our animals (owls, a hawk, an iguana, snakes, turtles, etc.) as part of my job. I love all things that have to do with the outdoors, boating, swimming, camping, hiking, etc.
I tend to like pretty much anything, I listen to most radio stations, but not anything really loud or hard. My favorite artist right now is Matt Nathanson.
I like to read non-fiction outdoor adventure books, as well as mysteries. I also love any educational book about nature or science.
I don't really like to watch movies - my attention span is too short, but my favorite movie is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - the original version.
Anything educational, I like the history channel, cooking shows, science shows, but I also enjoy Grey's Anatomy and The Office.
I spend most of my crafting time crocheting, but I also like collage, pressing leaves/flowers, beading, and trying new things.
I guess my allergies could potentially be relevant. I'm allergic to:
Note: Most of these allergies are to things that I would eat/put on my face. If it is something that doesn't go there, the only things that absolutely must be avoided are apples and hemp...those things make me die, and I kind of like being alive.
The basic plants, grass, trees, mold, and then some other weird ones: Hemp, Jute, Dust, Bell Peppers, Apples, Pears, Nectarines, Peaches, Lettuce, Cucumbers, Floral Fragrances
These things give me asthma - smoke, perfume, incense
Other random things I like:
Stickers
Anything with owls
Pie
Cute Necklaces
Hair Ornaments
Crochet Hooks
Yarn
Craft/Crochet Pattern Books
Artwork
Peanut Butter
Peppermint
The color blue
Fun paperclips
Non-chocolate candy
outdoor/naturey stuff
and CHEESE...I love cheese.
I wouldn't call me picky, more just particular. Don't fret too much, if you send me something that I can't use, I'll just find someone to pass it along to. There are however, a few things that most people like that I don't. I'm weird like that.
I don't like:
Chocolate bars - I like candy that only has a little bit of chocolate, like peanut butter m&ms or snicker bars, but other than that, I really don't like the taste or smell of chocolate.
Caffeine - This means no coffee or teas with caffeine. I have a heart condition, and caffeine makes my heart beat irregularly, and you know, I've heard that your heart is pretty important to your continued existence, so...
Cookies - I just don't like them. I don't know why, I'm strange, ok?
Chewing gum - I have TMJ, and that just ends in pain and badness.
Scrapbooking things besides stickers - I love love love stickers, but I don't scrapbook besides that, and don't really have any use for other things.

Hi there! I'm hoping that your medical issues have improved and that you'll be feeling better and back to swapping soon. I see you haven't signed in for awhile, so I'm getting a little worried about you. Let us know how you're doing?
Hi Jana..Sorry to hear about your medical misfortunes. Get well soon.
Hi Janal14. I've just seen your update on your medical situation. I'm so sorry to hear what trouble you're having. I wish you the best for your surgery and a very speedy recovery!
Hello! I have PMd you but never got an answer and I really am getting worried about my package not getting to you (I am talking about the cookies and hot drinks swap). Please rate me if you got it and if you didn't please tell me so that I can resend. It was sent over a month ago and the other partner I had got it and rated me long ago so I am really worried about my package not being delivered to you. Thanks! Hear you!
