Hello! I’m pretty new to making ATCs but I’ve been drawing and creating for the majority of my life. I’m in three or four different Facebook groups right now. While I prefer doing hand drawn cards, I like to try different mediums for ATCs from time-to-time. (I just bought new watercolors to explore painting ATCs) I've also created a portfolio on Instagram to showcase a few of my ATCs.
My style is eclectic (both in drawing and collecting). I guess that’s why I’m so excited about trading here.
I find my ideas and inspiration in several different places. I like to mimic styles of other artists (Andy Warhol, Tom Fredo, Roy Lichtenstein, etc) and then throw my own twist on it. I enjoy learning new techniques and trying out new styles! I’ve learned that I have a greater appreciation for an artist after I study their technique a little (mainly because I learn how difficult it can be, LOL).
Music is extremely important in my life! It fuels my creativity and helps focus my mind.
For example: while I researched and wrote my thesis over Young Adult literature from the 1970s, I would listen to a playlist of era appropriate music (ABBA, The Bee Gees, Earth Wind & Fire, etc.)
My first concert was Garth Brooks in the 80's... My favorite concert was Joan Jett in 2019...
What's in my CD player? Soundtracks from Wicked, Hamilton, and Mary Poppins...
I like to jam out to Nickelback and Luke Combs... I like to relax to Jill Scott and Bette Midler... But ELVIS will always be king!!!
Movies and Television can be seen reflected in many of the things I create! There's something to be said about being able to escape to a different reality for a brief period of time. As I'm sure you already suspect (if you've read this far) I like a variety of movies.
Pretty much the only thing that I don't like is Horror/Gore. I try to keep nudity to a minimum (just a personal preference).
I'm a lifelong Disney addict and enjoy classics!
I make quilts (specifically t-shirt quilts) by trade. I have even quilted ATCs and traded a few in alternative material groups.
I like things that are a bit different so I try to get handmade items whenever possible! I love learning and I'm always trying to learn a new craft technique or make something.
I use crafting as a way to relax and wind down for the day.
