I'm a mom of three, wife, interpreter for the deaf, and poet. I love to create. Sometimes with words, or yarn, or paper. I'm a midwestern girl, living in what I think of as the East. I love being organised and all the little doodads made for organization. I am a huge reader of almost anything. I'm trying swapping because the idea of sending a little something to someone I don't know and getting a little something in return is so appealing. My husband says I'm obsessed with finding the perfect gift. I like music from the 1980's but no heavy metal or country. I really enjoy Melissa Etheridge, Indigo Girls, Evanescence, Talking Heads. Lots of variety depending on my mood. I have no musical ability whatsoever. I really like mysteries, but not icky sticky body fluid filled mysteries. Historical fiction is fab. American poetry from Whitman through some contemporary poets. Classic literature is always marvelous, who doesn't like Austen and Brontes? Some of my favorite movies are those of M. Night Shamalan. A thriller with a message. I sometimes enjoy book based movies, but that can go so wrong. Think Harry Potter. I have a new interest in Bollywood movies. They are visually and musically super. Television is only good for getting my through ironing clothes. I don't follow any shows to speak of. I'm a crafty gal. I do a good bit of knitting, mostly for family and charity. Nothing too complex, it's more for the repetion with my hands and the comfort of making than the "wow look what I did" of creating a fancy something. I do some crochet, some paper stuff. I enjoy cooking, again nothing that requires 67 steps and 54 ingredients. I have visions of doing some painting (acrylic on canvas) but little time. I like to make things/buy things for people I care about. My fantasy travel locations would be Hawaii, India and England. I've lived in Italy, and France. Traveled in Ireland, Spain, Germany, Canada, Mexico. I'd love to do it all again now that I'm old enough to appreciate it more.
