Greetings! I have been away from Swap-bot for awhile but I'm back and ready to start swapping!
I was raised in the Hill Country around Kerrville, TX but am now a resident of the San Antonio area. I have always loved the Hill Country and enjoy exploring the wine country around Fredericksburg on the weekends with my wife.
On a typical weekend you will find me either at home working on home improvement projects or driving between small towns with my wife visiting small boutiques and wineries.
When relaxing at home I like to watch a little TV and my all time favorite classics are Fraiser and Gilmore Girls. They are those kind of shows that never get old so even after binge watching Sweet Tooth or Game of Thrones I'll put on an episode of Fraiser when doing the dishes or just need some noise in the house.
Well, that is a brief snippet of me. To get to know me better, you know what to do, and if you don't send me a message.
I started with photography by shooting sports photos at the college I went to in Kerrville and then ventured onto taking cast pictures for local plays as well as live action shots during them. What I try to capture in my photography is that decisive moment; the glimmer in the eye of someone being devious, the moment a dog decides to jump, the welling up of emotion to the point where they cannot be contained any more. In recent days I have found a word that embodies that moment for me: ZING! It might sound odd but when you click that shutter button and grab that perfect image, something just resonates with you and it is something you don't forget.
I realize these 'Zing' moments are tough to capture and depend on the subject/photographer but if you have something that fits this description then cherish it always.
As far as General themes of photography I like, Portraits are at the top of my list especially if there is a story behind it. Action shots of sports are great too, as well as plays and concerts. I'm not very picky, but I would request that something should only be sent if it is something that you really like or think is awesome.
I also like being able to see a picture and then hear the story that went along with it. One example of this was a contest I had with my friends for a free dinner on me. I asked them to give me a picture of themselves and on the back write the story of how they first met me. I got back a bunch of pictures and it was awesome to read the stories and remember moments I thought I had forgotten.
For me Decoupage is a lot like collage work or scrapbooking. I like to be able to be able to look at an object again and again and see something I never noticed before. I've found that decoupaging really fits the bill for me. I like just about anything that has been covered in something that is visually appealing. As I am no pro at decoupaging, I have no restrictions on a person's creativity, but if you really want to make my day, I like things that are unusual or you wouldn't expect to see decoupaged. Ideas that have just come to me would be like an old cellphone or computer mouse covered in interesting pieces of paper or magazines where I can still see what it is but it becomes something more with the decoupage. I would also love it if someone who knows a proper/innovative technique for achieving great results would send me something with a description of how they did it. I always love learning new techniques!

It's neat where you are, I used to work in Leakey. :D
It's me again...I didn't read your profile before rating you but now I have and I just want to say that it's exciting to see a dude on Swap-Bot, there are so few of you, but especially one that loves Jesus and professes it on his profile. It made my day.
I went to Colombia on a mission trip in September and it's changed my life, my parents are leaving for Haiti in a week and I so wish I could go with them. I hope you find yours and that many people are touched by your walk with God.
