I was born and raised in northern Kentucky. I moved to Virginia after accepting a teaching position at a university in southeastern Virginia. I am a professor and teach courses in the human services and counseling programs. I'm an avid animal lover and a vegetarian. I enjoy traveling, camping, and being around happy people!
I love many different types of music including pop, classical, country, rock, soft rock, and broadway musicals.
My favorite all-time book is The Grapes of Wrath. I also love almost everything Stehphen King has written as well as motivational books and true life dramas.
My favorite movies are: The Sound of Music, Ryan's Song, Love Story, Steel Magnolias, Terms of Endearment, Hoosiers, Rudy, Jerry McQuire, As Good as it Gets, and We Are Marshall.
My favorite shows are: Top Chef, Hell's Kitchen, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Nancy Grace, Judge Judy, Judge Greg Mathis, People's Court, The Mole, Amazing Race, Big Brother, Apprentice, Survivor, The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, City Confidential, 48 Hours, Dateline, and this time of year...The Olympics! :-)
I'm addicted to ATC swaps. I just learned about them in 2008 and I've been hooked ever since. I'm also building a large Victorian dollhouse (along with my significant other) and making most of the furniture.
I love rub-on transfers; brads; eyelets; clear stickers; embossing; embellishments, Victorian, vintage, retro, and Halloween ATC supplies; Vintage paper dolls; glue sticks; and the colors of Autumn, along with black/white, black/cream, lime green, purple, robin egg blue, and fuchia.
I also love traveling! I taught in Japan for a summer and have taken 5 groups of university students to Ireland and N. Ireland for study abroad experiences. I love diversity and have been teaching diversity courses to college students for over 12 years.
I hope to travel to all 50 states. I've been to 25 states, so I'm halfway there!
I dislike when people are rude and/or mean. One of my favorite sayings is "You can usually tell the character of people by the way they treat servers in a restaurant!"
I mail all my ATCs within 1 to 3 days after receiving my swap partners' names. Please, if my cards do not arrive give me an opportunity to rectify the situation before leaving negative feedback. Simply send me a quick e-mail and I'll be more than happy to send you another card.
On another note, I certainly understand that life happens. If you are unable to meet a swap deadline, it's no big deal to me. Just send me an e-mail to let me know.
I rate within two days after receiving a swap item. Rating is my way of showing gratitude for the time, energy, creativity, and thoughtfulness people put into their swap items :-)
