~I have rediscovered Swapbot. Used to be here three years ago (can't believe it's been that long!), but life got in the way and so did annoying financial situations. Now things are looking up and I'm back :o)
~I'm me. 26 years old and working as a part-time librarian and part-time teaching assistant. Just filling in my application to study for a PGCE in Textiles though, so who knows, one day I may be a teacher. fingers cross'd.
~I'm randomly addicted to american t.v shows that keep getting cancelled (there could be a reason, such as normal people think they're rubbish, but hey). My So-Called Life was amazing and now I own the boxset, I can satisfy my cravings for old school Jared Leto.
~I can quote the entire script of Empire Records, and every book by Jane Austen, but I couldn't tell you what my mobile number is.
~My friends will tell you that I have the most bizarre taste in music. I prefer to think of it as eclectic. Who says that I can't listen to Dolly Parton, Incubus, Britney Spears, Robbie Williams, Mozart and Greenday all within the space of 10 minutes?
~I love musicals. I can't help it. I love being able to escape into that surreal world. It makes reality easier to handle.
~I am addicted to all things Hello Kitty. Seriously. It's actually getting a little ridiculous now. I think I may have to open my bedroom up to the paying public as a Hello Kitty museum to fund my habit.
I also love collecting postcards from around the world. They give me inspiration for when I can finally afford my round-the-world trip.
I dislike tea, but love hot chocolate-type drinks.
I love everything, well nearly. Dance/trance/house/etc is a big no-no. Here's the list: reelbigfish, howards alias, saves the day, dashboard confessional, rachmaninov, j.s. bach, goldfinger, fyfe dangerfield the kooks, yellowcard, no doubt, save ferris, letters to cleo, le tigre, debussy, haydn, brahms, foo fighters, blink 182, all-american rejects, queens of the stone age, third eye blind, sugarcult, incubus, biffy clyro, juliana theory, simple plan, the donnas, alkaline trio, the feeling, motion city soundtrack, green day, vivaldi, mozart, chopin, elgar, jeff beck, ben jelen, alice martineau, matthew jay, maroon 5, robbie williams, the ataris, everclear, elvis, frank sinatra, otis reading, ella fitzgerald, ben e king, vex red, halo, stereophonics, jimmy eat world, our lady peace, dog toffee, johnny cash, aretha franklin, nina simone, a perfect circle, bjork, the distillers, hole, no comply, led zepplin, the who, cream, karl jenkins, mendelssohn, verdi, janis joplin, aerosmith, jimi hendrix, switchfoot, train, david bowie, foo fighters, fun lovin' criminals, alanis morrisette, scott joplin, fiona apple, jeff buckley, ray charles, jewel, tori amos, bjork, pj harvey, joni mitchell, queen, grown at home, damien rice, tchaikovsky, beethoven, puccini, offenbach, wagner, holst, elton john, bb king, eric clapton, regina spektor...
I also love really cheesey American pop haha, just brought Lindsay Lohan's albums (they'll be hidden in my "I'm too ashamed to admit I own it" box).
Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Some Kind of Wonderful, Dogma, Donnie Darko, Clueless, The BFG, Requiem for a Dream, Mystic Pizza, X-Men Trilogy, Spiderman, Harry Potter Series, The Pianist. The Illusionist, Some Like It Hot, Juno, The Chronicles of Narnia,
My So-Called Life, CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Hollyoaks, Dawson's Creek, E.R, Skins, Bones, Life Unexpected, Lie to Me, NCIS: Los Angeles, Spooks.
Knitting, Sewing, Painting, Drawing.
I also make jewellery, which helps me use up my bead collection, but I am always on the look out for unusual and pretty beads/clasps/findings/etc.
I am definitely not a quilting person, so if I am ever your swap partner, please no quilting things.
Stationary, especially anything kawaii/kitsch/japanese/sanrio (esp. hello kitty)/cute etc. Pretty papers, stickers, cards, ribbons, postcards of anything arty/funky/cute, pretty envelopes, tags, anything with quotes on, anything knitting related, some scrapbook things (but not loads), polka dots, 50s pin-ups (think Bettie Page), Marilyn Monroe, make-up, unique jewellery, mix-cds (especially with music that i've haven't heard of), American Fashion mags.
I love all things crafty, but my heart will always belong to knitting. I love working with natural fibres, merino wool being my all time fave along with cashmere (when I can afford it!). I would love to try all the Lion Brand yarns, even the 100% acrylic stuff, just because its so hard to get over here. I absolutely detest fun fur/eyelash/bizarre yarns.
Please no quilting things or magazine/book pages.
