I'm married with two grown kids. My husband and I run a business together. I have a four year old Lab mix pup.
I spent the last seven years helping to care for my mom. She passed away in July and I miss her terribly.
I love to write, if only for myself...I don't really think I'm a good enough writer to share.
My favorite colors are pink and green - soft colors.
I love horses. I had horses as a teenager. I will probably never be able to have one again, but will always love them...they are beautiful!
I would never flake and I always rate and I hope to receive the same from my swap partner. If you do not receive my swap or my rate, please email me! :)
Love folk/pop music, mostly the older stuff from the 60's and 70's. My favorite is James Taylor, but I also like old Cat Stevens and old Elton John. Also, Crosby, Stills, and Nash and Peter, Paul, and Mary.
I also enjoy Josh Groban. Classical/calming instrumental is what I like to relax to.
It's still fun to listen to classic rock too, though!
And, just to show I don't live in the past, I'm open to new music/artists as long as it's not hard rock or rap.
I love to read. Laura Ingalls Wilder has always been my first love, my absolute favorite, but I have room for more. I love Louisa May Alcott and Lucy Maud Montgomery. I am a recent convert to the Betsy Tacy books too! Other favorites are James Herriott and Earl Hamner Jr.
Sound of Music is my absolute favorite movie. I love Julie Andrews so I'm up for just about anything she's in!
I like old movies, funny movies, uplifting movies, but nothing scary or violent or really stupid or vulgar.
I do love a good Clint Eastwood western, or just about anything with Clint Eastwood!
I don't watch much tv, don't have cable anymore and don't miss it.
My favorite show, as dorky as it may sound, is Antiques Roadshow.
I also like watching just about anything having to do with American History.
I put most of my hobbies aside when my kids were growing up and then, for the past seven years, I was helping care for my mother. I used to knit, crochet and do needlework and am trying to get back into them. I have a program to do digital scrapbooking which I have not figured out yet! I just starting doing paper crafts (mostly cards).
This summer, I discovered the joy of antiques! Why did I wait so long? I quickly discovered that I had to narrow down what I collect:
Antique photos of babies and small children
Vintage handkerchiefs
Items that were written about in the Little House books. For example, I have an antique butter mold similar to what is described in Little House in the Big Woods, sheep shears to go with Farmer Boy and a pearl handled pen like Ma had. It's an ongoing collection!
Unusual or vintage buttons. Am working on making a button string to use on my Christmas tree.
Items from my collections list above :)
Pretty craft paper
Ribbon (for crafting)
Craft paper punches
Simple rubber stamps and ink pads
Markers
Apricot Tea (love any tea, but apricot is my favorite!)
Cute socks
Treats or toys for my Lab mix pup
Pretty handkerchiefs
Don't like dark chocolate, prefer milk chocolate
Love hot cocoa, prefer just plain cocoa. Am okay with flavored if that is what you send though! :) Not too picky.
Love cute socks. Love Christmas socks with gingerbread people or snowpeople. Love socks with horses or dogs. Anything cute really. :)
I really love when someone has taken the time to glance over my profile for even a simple postcard swap. I do the same for you! :)
I like country, but not so much cutesie.
I'm not really into modern.
I'm not big on animated characters, unless they're the oldies from the '60's and earlier.
I love it if it looks vintage or old-fashioned.
Anything with a smokey or musty smell or any overpowering scent. I have allergies.
Nothing gross or vulgar please.
