My name is Carol and I'm a recently retired educator. I love retirement because I now have the time to really enjoy all my favorite things - quilting and sewing, gardening (in both USDA Zones 5 and 10), genealogy, crafts, friends, and of course, our six grandchildren.

I'm a bit of a techie (my grandkids call me i-Grandma), and I enjoy teaching others how to use technology - especially for teaching and learning. I'm comfortable with and interested in Type 1 Electronic swaps, but also looking forward to swapping items via snail mail.

I live on a small lake in Michigan in an 80++ year-old log cabin with a two-story field stone fireplace. I'm willing to compromise my love of "clean" for the charm of dusty log walls.

I'm new to swapping, but anxious to get started.

Quilting and sewing are my favorite crafts. I've made about a dozen quilts in the past three years, but only one I've kept for myself. I love choosing and collecting fabric, cutting and piecing, and seeing the final creations come together. I do some machine quilting myself but usually have my larger pieces long-arm quilted by someone who has the patience to do it.

I also make bags, table runners, placemats, pillowcases, and dolly quilts. I'm planning to try more doll clothes and quilted postcards this year.

I'm interested in paper crafts and any crafts that I can try with my grandchildren.
