All swaps I've signed up for are sent. Too many major personal issues to deal with right now, swapping has become a burden rather than fun so I'm taking a break. (Especially after discovering a stack of envelopes I thought I'd mailed, waiting patiently in the trunk of my car.) I'm primary caregiver for my Grandmother, who has Alzheimer's as well as other health problems. As if keeping her happy and preventing her from wandering off wasn't enough, she's been in and out of hospital. My own plethora of health problems too, as well as trying to find a job with hours so I can care for her- gotta simplify.
The travel bug bit me hard, learning about new places and cultures brings me joy. Massively geeky.
My favorite color is green, with burgundy running a close second. I like my chocolate dark, my tea black, my veggies homegrown, and my gifts handmade.
It says fave tv but let's cover tv and movies together, ok?
British scifi is my genre of choice, particularly Doctor Who, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (books, audios, BBC series, movie - in that order) and Life on Mars. My other biggest loves are Firefly and Pushing Daisies. Currently addicted to Big Bang Theory, Chuck, Castle, and sometimes even Glee.
Raised on both Star Trek and Star Wars so I never really had a chance at a non-geeky life. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Jane Austen and the Regency time period are fascinating. Recently I joined a Regency society, just getting started with that.
Jasper Fforde is delightfully bizarre.
Isaac Asimov was completely brilliant.
Douglas Adams' wway with words always delights me.
Variety is good. My current playlist is heavy in the Beatles, Coldplay, Muse, Sting, (possibly this anglophilia goes deeper than I realized) Michael Buble, Green Day, etc.
I knit, cross-stitch, create jewelry, bake, sew, experiment, and always dream big. Love to learn new things, explore new options. Fascinated by steampunk.
Have a lot of allergies, so please don't send anything perfumed. If you have furry pets, please keep them away from anything coming to my house, and if you smoke please be kind enough to throw a vented box of baking soda in the package to absorb the odor- or at least give warning, so I'll be prepared to open it outdoors and leave it to air out for a day or two. I really appreciate the consideration, asthma and allergy attacks are no fun.
