About Me

I am an art history student who loves photography, cooking, and baking. I love postcards, old photographs, art prints, stationary sets and pens (especially from Japan), recipes of all kinds, small knitted toys, stickers, mix tapes, chocolates.

Aside from art, I enjoy kayaking, biking, and hiking.

Favorite Music

I like most music besides hip hop and country. My favorite bands are Nine Inch Nails and the Smashing Pumpkins.

Favorite Books

I love cookbooks, all of Neil Gaiman's books, the Weetzie Bat series, and everything by Jane Austen. I'll read any I can, I'm not picky.

Favorite Television

I don't watch much television, but when I do, it's usually whatever is on Food Network.

Favorite Crafts

Does baking count as a craft...?

Comment: Art Nouveau is not an art form I know much about but I am going to look into it. I love the Henri van de Velde you sent me (Tropon). The colors are wonderful. Are they birds, do you remember? Love it!
Response: I'm so glad you like it! I'm pretty sure that it is non-representational, but I do know that Tropon was a food product company that van de Velde designed for. (yes, I'm a huge art history geek) :)

Comment: Hello Megan, I was fascinated when I received your postcard and encountered the front of your card as it looked liked food items being used to depict a human face. However, when I turned the card over, I found out that the human face was all depicted by aquatic creatures. Boy, was I fooled. My eyes dropped down a little further down on the postcard and I thought I was going to have my first repeat in my recipes as I saw Ricotta and you see I had just finished reading another postcard for Ricotta Cookies. I read a little further and saw the C at the beginning of the next word and I really thought I had a repeat, but then I saw an H and I now knew I was safe. I read through the rest of the word and Cheescake was there instead of Cookies. Yes, I had received your recipe for "Ricotta Cheesecake" and my hope for no repeat recipes was still in place. I read through your recipe and my mouth started to taste the cheesecake even though I had not even made it yet. I have put your recipe near the top of my pile and want to try it once I have completed this entire swap. I have a number of recipes at the top to try, but I will get to each one with patience. Thank you for sharing your recipe with me. Hope we get to meet at some future swaps. Until we meet again, Happy Swapping! Barb sleepingrover2010
