IMPORTANT: Please message me if you do not receive a swap from me. I am not a flaker. I also always rate. If I do not rate you on a swap, please let me know. I appreciate being rated when you receive a swap. That lets me know that it has arrived and is not lost in the mail. Thank you.
I am a retired teacher and live in the beautiful state of Kentucky. I spend most of my time with my five grandchildren, I babysit for my youngest grandson who is three and Autistic. My husband and I live close and see them almost everyday. They have made me see the world with new eyes again and we have great times together. This summer we are making a fairy garden. I love to read, and enjoy a wide variety of books. I love animals and currently the furry family consists of two cats and one dog. I like to try many different types of crafts and love to collect fabulous junk that other people seem not to want. I love to cook and try new recipes. I have been married for 49 years and have a wonderful son and daughter. We all live in the same town.(Lucky me!!) I have many, many craft items and would love to swap with others. (Borderline Hoarder?)
My favorite music is silence and just listening to the birds. I love the still quiet time when I am alone (very seldom) When I do listen to music I like many different kinds. I like classical, easy listening, especially from the 60's and 70's, some country, lots of old folk tunes and some new age. I enjoy instrumental music. (I am losing my hearing and that is very traumatic for me)
I have so many favorite books. I enjoy craft and art books, cook books, novels, mysteries, non-fiction and poetry, I belong to two book clubs. One of my favorite places to visit is the library. I live in a small town that is situated in three different counties so I actually have access to 3 different libraries. Maieve Binchy, Jodi Picoult, John Grisham, Sandra Dallas, and James Patterson are some of my favorite authors. I have books on mixed media, scrapbooking, card and book making, embroidery, crazy quilting, jewelry making, silk ribbon embroidery, collage, and altered books and I love them all.
My husband and I go to the movies often and I love to see a chick flick with my girl friends on a girls night out.Of course the grandchildren and I see every Kids flick I really enjoyed The Help, Leap Year, and anything with Johnny Depp.My son takes us to all the current sci-fi and super hero movies. One of my favorite all time movies is a very old one, Friendly Persuasion. I love to watch Katherine Hepburn movies and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner is at the top of that list. Pretty Woman, The Wizard of Oz, Casablanca, To Kill a Mockingbird. Give me a big bag of popcorn and I will watch almost anything.(in my family that is a good thing)
I do not watch very much television. I do like NCIS, and loved Monk while it was on. I like cooking shows and love the Barefoot Contessa, Chopped, and Trisha.
You name it, I have probably tried it or have a book about it or want to try it. I like crazy quilting but it really is time consuming and I don't have much time at the present. I love rubber stamps and use them in many ways. I love to make tags, postcards, ATCs, mailart, mixed media, altered books and journals. I guess I just love to piddle and dabble in about anything that is messy. I have tried oil and watercolor painting, paper making, print making, paper mache, decoupage, and photography. I believe that if you enjoy doing something enough, it is worth doing badly (such as my watercolors) I have a blast but you really wouldn't want to see them.
LIKES
I am not picky. Love to try new things.
I do not have a favorite color. I like them all.

Do love vintage looking stuff or out of date or retro things.(like me)
I love ANY kind of paper,
all postage stamps (new or used, US or other),
pretty napkins,
printed or stamped tissue paper,
maps, old photos, menus,
ephemera, dictionary pages,pretty food labels,
nature pictures, animals, birds, butterflies,
pretty labels, paper punchouts,
textured paper, old letters,
lace, ribbon, washi tape,
Did I say I love, love working with beautiful napkins?
I would love to have book pages in any other language besides English,
illustrations from children's books,
Lets face it. I never met a paper that I didn't like.Pretty much anything that I can cut up and paste on.
I will love anything that you spend time making for me or gathering for me for stash swaps.
DISLIKES - I really don't dislike anything much.
I cannot have scented objects because they give me headaches. I like them They don't like me.
I do have a preference for ATCs Not because I dislike them but because of storage. I keep my ATCs in a binder, therefore I prefer that they fit in a sleeve and do not have embellishments that protrude above or over the ATC standard size. But if you feel inclined to send me a really fancy one I will treasure it outside of my binder.
