Fairly new swapper. Recently divorced (Read: Single). 2 young boys, who are awesome. Part-time college student. I finally landed a job so good that I still can't believe it. I'm not a rabid swapper yet, so I can only handle a couple at a time. I hope I do a good job and all my partners are happy with my contributions. I shall try and be fabulous! =)
I like all kinds. I like rock, alternative, R&B, hip hop, selected rap, Bollywood soundtracks, some Banda,Tom Petty, Jars of Clay, salsa, anything you can sing and/or dance to, anything that makes ya smile. Reggaeton is new to me, but I really like it so far!
I love Gabriel Garcia Marquez, I hope that someday could read his works in the Spanish. Long way to go before I can read original Marquez.
Anna Karenina. The only Tolstoy I have finished so far.
The Hindi Bindi Club. Fun book about first generation American children (women) from Indian immigrant parents.
Anything Dean Koontz. He's just fun. Once I start one of his books I can't put it down. "Odd Hours" is coming out!!!
Diary of Frida Kahlo. I have it with the English translation in the back. Again, I can't wait until I can read it myself.
Cook Books. Any and all. I love to cook and I was working so much last year that I hardly got to at all. It's sad when you're thrilled that you got the time to make spaghetti. I would love to make more cultural foods. My mom didn't cook much at all, being a super busy single mom, so I didn't learn much from home. Orieda fries and chicken nuggets just don't count [Sorry Mom! =)]
OK, so a few Years ago I was introduced to Frida by the movie of the same name. I happened upon it one night on TV and was never really the same after. Ever since I have been using as much of my time as I can spare reading about her art and her life. Being a woman of fairly limited resources at the moment I get most of my info from the internet. I have a few books about her art and life, but I could always use more. I enjoy Diego's art too, but I am drawn to Firda. So, tortured, talented, beautiful, and strong.
I love rich color. Think emerald, ruby... Purple is my favorite color, especially the rich royal purple. Red is growing on me lately, so is pink. Love black; it goes with anything =). I am really falling in love with bright color lately. The more color the better.
One word. !SILVER!
I love Thymes Kimono Rose scent.
I'm obsessed with pens. Pens and markers. There. Admission is the first step to recovery right? =) NO WAY! I will never get over loving pens. I love colorful pens, especially glittery ones or metallic ones. Ahhhh pens....
Tying to my love of pens is my love of stationary. I especially like the ones with texture and raised detail.
Junior Mints. The perfect candy. I'm a Hershey girl, there's nothing I like better than a plain old Hershey bar.
Lagaan, Mangal Pandey: The Rising, Salaam Namaste, Asoka, The Mexican Trilogy (El Mariachi, Desperado, Once Upon a Time in Mexico), Pan's Labyrinth, The Big Labowski, Mr Bean Box Set, My Fair Lady, Pirates of the Carribean, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Absolutely Fabulous
Not much offends me. Don't be afraid to send me adult flavored or gothic art. E.g. I do not find nudity offensive and I'm friends with the skulls. =)
I just started sewing. I need to practice more. Should not have started with clothes. I am making my first quilt though and am super excited (postponed due to life). The fabrics are light pink, dark pink leaf pattern, and a chocolate brown with a slight glimmer; the back will be this fuzzy comfy light lime green I got for $1 a yard at Wal-Mart. I just like the feel of the back, the top will be gorgeous.
I made my first purse recently! I'm so excited, because it turned out awesome! Everyone loves it.
I love most all things India and Mexico!
I haven't really gotten to craft much in the last several years, so I'm low on supplies and techniques.
Please feel free to send me any advice or techniques you have. I would also love any website suggestions you may have. Thanks for the help in getting me back into the creative swing!
I would love to have little odds and ends to attach to crafts, ie milagros or interesting images on paper or CD.
Living in AK means that I am severely limited on selection of cultural items. So, anything would be appreciated.

Like your profile. :)
My favorite scent ever is Thymes Kimono Rose as well... I found it totally randomly in this weird store here, and now it is the only thing that I ever want to wear.
If you're interested, I would love to do a one on one small Frida themed crafty swap with you sometime. :)
