I've been doing crafts of all kinds for, well, decades. I sew, do collage and assemblage, make gifts and collect materials fairly obsessively. (My husband says there's a difference in collecting and amassing, but I ignore the implication.) I've never sold my work except in church bazaars and for charity...but who knows, maybe when I retire... I teach English and history at a community college, and I LOVE new ideas.
My interests are very general:
History...US and World... People and cultures of the world... Photography, especially new digital techniques... Gardening, flowers more than vegetables... Reading:sci-fi, non-fiction, history, philosophy, book groups... Art and design, museums, any kind... Travel, been lots of places; many to go!... Assemblage, collage and textile art... Environmental issues
My collections include:
Old photographs... Antique stereoview cards... Handmade laces and trims... Buttons and belt buckles from ladies dresses... Table linens and napkins from early 20th C... Stamps... Dresden and other paper ephemera... Specialty papers... Women's handwork...embroidery, crochet, beading... Postcards, calling cards, antique advertising ephemera...
What I cannot do: Draw or paint, but I keep trying
What I don't like:
Not much. Kale. I don't like kale. :) Usually I can find some element of interest in just about anything.

Happy Birthday!
Merry Christmas with hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Thanks for the nice note on my profile! We have been affected by this earthquake but only through receiving freight and mail at this time. When we first built our house on Amook Island, in 1998, there were two (2) 7+ earthquakes here. They made a crack across our island and across our beach that split a couch-sized rock in half and diverted our stream for over a year. Here we have 100s of them a day, they are just not usually big enough to feel and hear. Thanks for your kind thoughts and support. Keep praying for those up on the mainland. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Happy Birthday!
Hi Nancy! I wanted to thank you for the wonderful atc your angeled for our Darling Donetta. She is such a wonderful person and it is so nice of you to help her out. I love the atc you created. It is so unique and I really like the print out on the transparency. Thank you for the poem and the notecard as well. You truly are an angel. Thank you so much for your generosity and thoughtfulness.
thank you for that very lovely atc...the Jellicle cat is quite a lovely cat and the two on the back were quite a bonus...thank you also for the card and washi...and the envelope looked so "artistic with the stamping": you are a good friend to donetta...and I am a lucky swapper to get this card...
