Hello! I'm Candace and I discovered swapping a few years back on the BPAL forum and have been addicted to swaps ever since. For me, the best part of the swap is putting together something for your partner - it's a great way to get to know someone and it's nice to think that whatever you send will (hopefully) be a bright spot in their day.

Colors: Purple, pink, black are favorites. The only colors I don't really like is orange, yellow, lime green, neons (neon is fine as accents but as a main color, no).

Beverage: I'm a tea drink - not a fan of coffee or hot chocolate. I like fruit flavored teas, though nothing too tart. I also tend to drink it straight (no cream or sugar), though I intend to try out honey as a sweetener

I collect coin banks, playing cards, plush toys.

My main crafting hobby is knitting. I would like to re-teach myself how to crochet.

Crafts I would like to learn: spinning, felting, embroidery

At some point, I'd like to get back into cosplay or just sewing in general though I need to get a new sewing machine. I still consider myself quite the beginner, but have always enjoyed the process of making something that I could actually wear.

I'm all about fantasy and scifi, but also enjoy mystery and horror. Always looking to discover new authors. History, sociology, and psychology are some of my favorite non-fiction topics.

Paranormal romance annoys me and the fact that it's everywhere is equally annoying. Please do not send anything of this nature. Romance has it's place, but I like it to be at a minimum, not the focus.

I admit, I do judge a book by it's cover. I'm not impressed with the cover art of most scifi/fantasy books these days, as it all looks very photoshop and could easily be the cover of a romance novel. If something of that nature is sent to me, please give a plea on why I should give it a chance (I'll always try to read the first chapters of any book I receive in a swap, but it's also fun to hear the reasoning of why it was sent).

I also love manga - and will basically read anything. I do tend to stick with my genres, but I'm more inclined to read romance heavy titles in this format than in a novel (I'm not sure why). A big fan of CLAMP (I lament that X/1999 will probably never be finished). I'm behind on all the series that I used to read and am now just getting back into reading manga.

I generally love everything that I receive in swaps. As long as you put thought into it, or effort and love into hand made items, it's very appreciated.

There are certain items that I prefer to receive that are of higher quality, mostly decorations/ornaments. There can be some really great stuff that can come from places like the Dollar Store, but these items are the ones I'm really particular about.

Stationery: I love getting new stationery. Letter sets, note cards, and stickers are what I usually buy. Wishlist wants: Washi tape and smalll gift bags.

Stickers: I thought I'd expand on this topic as sticker swaps are my favorite to join. I'm pretty happy with most 'style' of stickers (holo, puffy, flat, etc) and I'm happy with sheets and flakes. I mostly stick to Kawaii brands but really I'm good with any brand. I love holiday stickers especially for Halloween. Size is not an issue either.
