I am a retired elementary school counselor. I began quilting in 1998 because I wanted a hobby that I could do after I retired. I had no idea at the time that quilting totally takes over your life.
I was a music major in college, a clarinet major and a voice minor. I love classical music, and I have a special fondness for chamber music and small orchestral works.
My favorite reading materials are the historical novel, mystery, and quilt related fiction. I usually stick to lighter reading, since I read to unwind. The exception to that is when I am reading my Bible or Biblical reference material.
My movie preferences usually fall in the PG or family oriented range. I don't like any of the shooting, blood, loud, foul language kinds of movies. That leaves me out of most of the movies made recently, and I haven't missed out on anything really important. I see too much of that stuff on the TV news. My TV preferences have also changed. I no longer watch the major networks during the prime hours. I like to watch cooking, home improvement, travel, history, and crafts.
I live by myself (with my miniature poodle, Callie), in a condo building. I have other friends throughout the building, so I have people around me when I want, and brother and sisters nearby. I attend a quilt camp twice a year for several days at a time, and I am a member of a quilt guild. I love to travel, but finances limit that more than I'd like.

Hello Pat I also worked in a school. I worked with Visually Impaired students in a main school environment then I transferred in to the administration office. I look forward to your swap! Penny
