I am a retired male living in Kentucky who enjoys sending and receiving snail mail. I worked in information technology for several decades. I primarily worked in hospitals but also was employed by a hospice for several years.
I send and receive a lot of postcards -- 5 to 7 each week. I exchange cards and letters regularly with several correspondents. I have a good friend with whom I have been exchanging postcards for almost 40 years. We were roommates during graduate school. We exchanged postcards one summer and continued the practice as our lives took us to different places.
I like to send letters, greeting cards, and note cards as well as postcards.
I don't watch much television, but there are a few shows I follow and enjoy:
I enjoy some of the British comedies and mysteries, including:
Several shows I liked very much ended and I miss them:
My guilty pleasure is watching Ice Road Truckers and Yukon Gold. Not funny or educational but I find them interesting. Nobody's perfect, right?
I read a lot, both books and magazines. Some of my favorite books are:
I also spend time in Bible study, both in groups and alone. My favorite book of the Bible is Ruth, and my favorite gospel is Luke.
I used to watch movies very often but now I don't watch as many. When I watch a movie I usually rent it (I miss having a neighborhood video store) and I generally watch mysteries, comedies or science fiction.
Some movies I enjoyed in the not too distant past are:
Postcards featuring churches, monasteries, convents or other religious buildings or sites are especially appreciated. But those aren't the only cards I like.
My taste in postcards is very broad. I like vintage cards (the older the better), humorous cards, photos of country scenes, parks and city streets, flowers, animals, people (famous or not), works of art, space, trains, dinosaurs -- almost anything you can think of. I like black & white as well as color postcards. If there's a postcard you've been holding on to because you're not sure someone would like it, then send it to me -- my tastes are quite broad. The only postcards I don't care much for are multi-views but I won't reject or one or lower a rating because of receiving one. I also like stamps so I appreciate it if one uses older stamps or a mixture of smaller denominations.
But these are only guidelines and not specifications -- feel free to send anything.
