CELEBRATING our 50th wedding anniversary Friday, March 25, 2022. The years have gone by so quickly.
Greetings from Missouri, the Show-Me state!
My nick-name is Dottie but one of my most favorite names is my swap-bot name; perkl8r.
As many of you may know, I am a Christian, which means that I have accepted Jesus as my savior by confessing my sins to Him and asking Him to come into my life. I believe that He died for my sins and therefore paid my sin debt. I also believe that the grave could not hold Him! I don't know how I would get thru all the things going on in this world today without Him!
If you should ever have any trouble with any of my packages, PLEASE let me know. I need to know if things go wrong, PM me....because I'm not happy if my partners are not happy!
My husband and I have been married 50 years in March of 2022. We have two grown daughters, 3 grandsons and one great grand daughter. Also, I am still working full time.
I love quilting, and use a lot of batiks and 1930's prints in my projects. I haven't been able to complete large projects due to limited work space so I make (or gather from swap-bot) quilt blocks (I store them in zippy bags for the future) and small projects.
I love to put aqua, purple, and green print combinations in a project.
I have pierced ears and love earrings, with silver my favorite. I love dangle earrings but not longer than 2" because I have "short neck syndrome". (lol)
I taught a quilting bee at our previous church for 6 years. We were more about the fun, creativity and fellowship than perfection.
RATING FOR SWAPS: Hey, I totally believe in spreading around the "hearts" when rating my partners. If you take the time to read my profile, or send me extra's, you can count on getting a heart from me. Oh, and I like to get what I give....I've never turned down a heart!
I allow myself to be sad when I send extra's and special things to swappers and then they rate with a five and say things like they loved the package....but don't give a heart.
I love chocolate, especially chocolate covered raisins, and dark chocolates (not a fan of peanuts or peanut butter, I know I am weird that way.)
--we LOVE estate auctions, estate sales, yard sales and flea markets where I get quilts, sewing supplies, fabric, books, and lots of other sewing/quilting related items
Authors I like:
Francine Rivers, Janette Oke, Grace Livingston Hill, Phyllis Whitney, Dorothy Eden, Victoria Holt, Daphne Du Maurier, Madeleine Brent also known as Peter O'Donnell,
I like finding new Christian authors, and especially enjoy Christian romances.
I love to watch BRITBOX.
My husband and I love old black and white movies, including Charlie Chan, Topper, and the Thin Man.
We rediscovered the Invisible Man movies, with the Invisible Secret Agent as our favorite.
--please do not send me plaid print fabric, I will just re-gift it I don't use flannel or wool fabric
---if wondering what kind of animal print to send me, I like bird and fish prints.
--I like bug prints too especially dragonflies, butterflies, etc
-----I believe in re-gifting, recycling, and reusing, so please do not be offended if I re-gift an item you might have sent me...but do not worry about me rating you badly. If you happen to send me a version of something that is not my favorite....if it meets the swap requirement, you'll get a 5 from me, and if you send extra item's, you'll also get a heart. I look at items that are not my favorites as opportunities to make someone else happy by re-gifting or as something to send as an extra in one of my swaps. It has worked out really well for me.
...I have decided I will not be joining any more swaps where the requirements to join allow swappers with rates lower than 4.8....too high a risk of flakers
...I've also come to the conclusion that swappers who don't rate and don't respond to e-mails are not fun to swap with and I may decide not to deal with them....on that note, PLEASE contact me if you sent me something that I did not acknowledge receiving....I'm old, forgetful and have a lot on my plate and would hate to be guilty of becoming a non-rater. I really appreciate reminders so don't feel bad about contacting me!
...not a fan of peace signs (BIG fan of peace, just don't care for the commonly used sign)
----not into ATC or stuffies, or matchboxes or Dottee dolls
--over the years I have been collecting unusual pin cushions and have several but would always add more to my stash if gifted to me
--I shop for fabric and sewing supplies at JoAnn's and one or two quilt shops in my area. I rarely buy fabric at Wal-Mart.
WISH LIST: Batiks and 1930's reproduction prints are my two favorites, I would love anything that has hand embroidery on it that I can cut down and use for labels on my quilt projects.(examples: old pillow cases, doilies, dish towels, etc.)
I do not like plaids, plaids and I do NOT get along!
Someone posted this link in another thread recently, and I thought it was really well written and easy to follow, so I copied it to my own profile in my "notes to self" section:
Intro to Markdown
By the way, the way I put that link in is to put my desired title in square brackets [Intro to Markdown] and then put the website address in round brackets immediately after that like this:
[Intro to Markdown] (http://www.simpleeditions.com/59001/markdown-an-introduction)
take away the space between [words] (link) and you get Intro to Markdown
TO POST A PICTURE: put ![name of picture](picture here) with NO spaces in between anything 9-2-16

Hi It's been more than 10 years since I've been on here. Do you remember me at all lol.? My twins are 28 now and the youngest 26. One is wanting to join fabric swaps. So I'm hoping to see some of my old friends.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
BLESSINGS, cc
Wishing you a happy and safe holiday.
Wow! Congratulations on 49 years of marriage. How awesome. You are blessed!!

Thank you so much for the great purple fabric. I really did not expect a thank you gift for forwarding your swap. I was just doing what I know you would have done if I made the same mistake. I was looking for the perfect purple fabric for a Bible bag for a special little lady and I think you have provided it.
Hello there! After many years I'm back! I still have that cute "I'm the king's child" stamp you sent me! I have a few stickers I created for the peas group, are you interested? I can send you if you message me your add. Big hugs from Brazil! xoxo
