I'm a wife of 40 years, mother of two grown daughters and four of the most perfect grandchildren you have ever seen! I am a Christian, daughter of the Most High King!
I'm on a journey to continue my mother's legacy of snail mail. In 2013 she sent over 175 pieces of mail. I started a card ministry in January and we've already sent over 1500 pieces of mail to encourage those with heartaches.
I'm excited about the thought of postcard mail. My grandmother sent me one each year when she went to Florida -- always from Monkey Jungle. My stash to send isn't very large, but it's quickly becoming an obsession!
I love to hear anything that has to do with snail mail -- something about your postoffice (mine matches stamps to my envelopes when my husband takes them in, and slaps flag stamps on them when I go in) the craziest thing you've ever mailed or had mailed to you, etc.
I'm a writer so I love books and would love to hear about your favorite book or one you've just read.
Reading is one of my favorite things to do. I always say it's a requirement for my job. I read every genre except fantasy and science fiction. Right now I'm reading books of letters -- women's letters, Jackie Kennedy's letters, Laura Ingles Wilder, etc. I love note cards depicting books.
I think I've tried about every craft. I crochet (mostly with thread but yarn, too), enjoy paper crafts, and different types of needlework. I'm dangerous to let loose in Michael's or Hobby Lobby. I'm addicted to washi tape, stickers and colored pens.
I collect "consumables" instead of things that sit and collect dust. I love good stationary and note cards (love, love, love any of the Kartos line) and anything I can tuck in an envelope, notebooks and pens, tea and candles. I collect kindness quotes, letter writing quotes and joy quotes. Envelope seal wax and stamps make me smile. Papyrus is one of my fav. stores. Gold foil is amazing. Oh! Studio notes are fun. Art reproduction cards (especially Mary Cassatt). I write to all ages so Dr. Suess to Note Card Cafe.
I like my tea black, my chocolate dark and my fruits dried. I like my journals to lay flat. I like all things sparkly but elegant. I like my drinks in one-of-a-kind goblets and could eat raisins in anything.
