I love learning new things. I joined this site mostly because I'm interested in learning about YOU and where you're from. Anything heartfelt that you send me, I would certainly appreciate, even if it isn't normally my taste. Random acts of kindness is my rule. I want to spread joy and companionship and hopefully some cool ideas. I encourage sending things that speak of your culture and your tastes....but just to give you an idea of what I like: My general interests are: Music, Books, Writing, Sewing, Coffee, Tea, and traveling. I love quotes, poetry, lyrics. I love old books, journals, and homemade stuff. I LOVE homemade jewelry and lately have an obsession with weird nail polish colors. I love to collect odd or unique music memorabilia. For instance, I have a collection of odd Elvis trinkets. I am learning how to sew, and could always use cool fabrics, buttons, or other trinkets to use to make things. I also enjoy collecting maps from other places. I am a big coffee fan and tea fan. I will pretty much try anything although I would prefer no loose tea. I love fine art and love to discover new artwork (although nothing too huge or poster sized).

My musical tastes are all over the place. I mostly listen to "alt country" or "indie" type of bands but I like pretty much every style, with the exception of dance music, gangster rap, pop country, and american idol type of stuff.

Here are some of my favorite artists, just to give you an idea: Classic country: Loretta Lynn, Charlie Daniels, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Hank Williams Sr. (and such like) Alt Country: Old 97's, the Avett Brothers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Lucinda Williams, Ryan Adams, Gillian Welch, Nickel Creek, The Duhks, M. Ward, She and Him, Newer Rock: Kings of Leon, White Rabbits, Green Day, Ben Harper.

I also am a HUGE Beatles fan, Bob Dylan, Ani Difranco, Alison Krauss, Bobby Bare Jr. Bruce Springsteen. I also love blues and old soul (sam cooke, otis redding, etta james, etc)

Some favorite writers/authors are: Steinbeck, Kurt Vonnegut, Carson McCullers, Ralph Waldo Emerson.

I also love fluffy mystery novels (alfred hitchcock, agatha christie), anything to do with social sciences/psycology, buddhism, philosophy, or most history. I love memoirs and biographies written by famous or historical figures, and travel journals.

I love dark comedies, chick flicks, dramas, and indie films.

I do not scrapbook, so no scrapbooking stuff. Besides that,I'm pretty much open!
