I'm a retired teacher and enjoy photography, especially of birds, wildflowers, children, and scenic views. Also love camping and traveling, and scrapbooking, so all of my interests mesh nicely.

I have a 29 year old daughter and am waiting not so patiently for grandchildren; lost my son to cancer when he was 14, and that was a life-changing experience. I'm fortunate to have good friends and a close knit family, I like to garden in summer, build snowmen in winter, I like quilts and counted cross stitch, I crochet granny square afghans, I am a member of our local bird club and I also read a lot, especially memoirs and family type stories. Guess I'm basically an old fashioned person as I'm not into fashion, jewelry, makeup, partying etc.

So, that's me in a nutshell. Oh, I'm newly remarried (for 3 years) to a long time friend and we travel and go birding and on nature hikes together.

I realize, after reading profiles of others, that I have not included nearly enough, so I'll try to remedy that. I'm new to swapping, so don't understand a lot of the terms used here, like"angel" as a verb, and I don't know what a URL is. I'd like to make lists in an outline form, which I see that Markdown does, but I don't know how to use it.

Anyhow, I'll see what I can do.

Here are some things I like: springtime, spring wildflowers, pastel colors, especially ping, rainbows, little wooden toys, bears (real and toy), homemade Christmas ornaments, personal original artwork, like little drawings or watercolors, babies, children , tiny scrapbooks, scrapbooking paper, stickers, children's books, especially picture books, the fall colors in New England, mountains,waterfalls, and much more.

And things I like to do: Read, read and write poetry, hike, kayak, hike, take pictures, bake cookies, do counted cross stitch, crochet granny squares, scrapbook, travel, go on Facebook and play Farmville, grow flowers, go for walks with friends or dogs, go birding, eat icecream, build sand castles, climb on rocks at the beach, play board games, do puzzles,visit with my daughter and sisters and friends, listen to folk music, organ and choral music, ride the merry-go-round,
