I am trying to be more healthy so I have more energy to keep up with my 3 little boys (who never seem to run out of energy or mischief:). I still love to bake and cook but have tried to cut down on how much I eat. I have also found that when I make cookies I only bake 1/2 the recipe, then roll the rest into balls and fresh for next time. If its sitting around I will munch so this saves me from that plus I have cookies ready to bake in the freezer.
Revenge, Grimm, NCIS LA, NCIS, private practice, grey's anatomy, once upon a time, and the big C. I watch alot of TLC & HGTV. I LOVE to watch the shows like House Hunters cause I like seeing what houses are like around the USA & other parts of the world.
Knitting and felting with merino wool yarn, quilting (love rag quilting), tie dying anything, crocheting and sewing. I have been crocheting since I was 5 years old and knitting since I was 12 years old. I also love making felted bags and purses. I love good soft wool yarn or any yarn that isn't rough and fun prints or kids prints on flannel and cotton material. My husband says I could open a store with my wool and fabric but I love it & it helps keep me sane with these 3 very active little boys! I prefer bamboo knitting needles or crochet hooks as they are warm to the touch and this helps alot with the arthritis in my hands. The arthritis doesn't usually stop me from doing what I love, unless the pain & stiffness is really bad but I do pay for it the next day :)
My name is Trina. I meet the love of my life when I was 16 and we have been together ever since and can't imagine my life without him. We have three little boys ages 8, 5, and 4. We also have three daughters that are grown (22, 25 & 27) and one little grand-daughter that is 3 years old (she's nine months younger than my youngest son who is her uncle). My mom says I'm insane to have another family but it wasn't planned but there must be a reason God sent us 3 little boys (but I wouldn't change a thing).
I try to be as green as I can. We recycle, reuse rain water, shop thrift (grandpa called them boogy stores) and try to reduce our footprints as much as possible. I'm into herbal/natural remedies and natural things. We are meat eaters, though, but I do only buy meat from a local Amish meat store.
I am a RN who at the moment is a SAHM, at least until my boys are older. I hope one day to finish my master's to be a nurse-practitioner. I miss my job & college but my first priority is my sons & they won't be little for long.
I am the oldest of four and the only girl. My youngest brother just passed away in October 2009 from a blood infection (he was only 34) due to a shunt for kidney dialysis.
I am not girly-girl by any means. I don't wear makeup or do my hair, unless you count pulling it up into a ponytail or putting it up. I grow my hair long to donate to locks of love. I'm a jeans, sweats & t-shirt girl. Loose and comfy things for this fluffy girl!
I LOVE-LOVE chocolate! I am a tea drinker but do enjoy the occasional cappuchino. I enjoy cooking and baking from scratch. I collect recipes and cookbooks as I like to try new recipes on my family. I get bored cooking the same things over and over so I like to spice it up. Thankfully I have a family who enjoys a little spice!
Favorite colors are purple and red. But I do like anything that is bright and bold. I hate white (funny that I decided to be a nurse! LOL!)
I love playing in the dirt. There is something so calming about feeling the warm earth between your fingers and planting veggies & flowers. I love to can what I grow or buy in bulk from the farmers market or my Amish friends. I spend alot of time in the country among the Amish cause its so peaceful & calming (I'm hoping to move out of the city to the country soon).
We have 4 furry family members: 3 cats and 1 boxer (my daughter just gave us her year old boxer). My little poodle friend, Gretel, just passed away after giving me 16 1/2 years of loyal friendship:( Plus the many others I feed outside, stray cats, the little possum & the 2 big raccoons. I hope to move into the country soon so we can raise chickens to have eggs. This would also be easier than going to the country to by eggs every week. We just added another furry member as my 4 year old son, Tucker found a baby kitty hopping through the tall grass. She was sick with pink eyes and a cold plus half eaten by fleas. Its been 6 weeks and she is so much better now. I guess we will be keeping her as I can't seem to find her a home. So Miss Figaro cause Minnie mouse's cat is named Figaro, you know?! (she has 4 white paws and a black body) is my new baby. This seems to be the way we get our cats as 2 (Basil & Ginger, my daughter likes to cook) my daughter brought home from walks. One boy,Spongebob (can you believe 3 little boys named him?) was born outside but decided he wanted to live with us:).
We enjoy camping, riding bikes, long walks in the woods, swimming.
I am a Christian and feel that the power of prayer is a calming influence in my life and brings me a sense of peace after a crazy day with three little boys. With God all things are possible!
We bid on a foreclosed house in the country with 4 acres. The bank says the process takes awhile as they have alot of foreclosures and they get to it when the get to it. We were told it could take 6 months to a year cause its a foreclosed house so really, really praying the process goes faster than that. I don't really understand why the process is so slow, wouldn't you think they would move faster as they are losing money when they are empty?! Just my 2 cents!
Authors Debbie Macomber, Jennifer Chiaverini, Beverly Lewis, Wanda Brunstetter, Joanne Fluke. Amish love stories, historical romances, mystery, cookbooks, knitting, crocheting, crafts, sewing, kid books. I really read just about anything. We are a family of book lovers! I like cooking magazines, natural healing, quilting, green stuff.
I LOVE sock swaps, even though I never wear them once I can start wearing my Birkenstocks (which means once most of the snow is gone). I wear a size 8 in US sizes and I wear a 38 in my Birkenstocks. I can't wear toe socks and I prefer short socks over knee high ones. I like anything that isn't plain.
I would like fabrics that have prints with realistic animals or fruits or veggies! I also like kid themed prints or flower prints and paisley prints. I don't buy myself alot of girly prints anymore cause the boys like all boy things.
Always have a need for good thread and different buttons and notecards.
Teas but not too crazy about green teas or mint flavored ones.
Love to share or receive recipes.
I love chocolate, especially with nuts in it. Can't go wrong with nuts & chocolate combined:)
