Hello! I'm Karen. I have a husband of 32 years and I have 4 boys. My oldest is a Marine and an Army Reservist his cute little wife and my 4 grandaughters (one is 9 and the twins are 6yo and a 2yo) live near Nashville. 2nd son got married after Thanksgiving and I have another cute DIL...awesomeness. #3 son is in trouble and is home again for a bit, and the baby may never leave here...at least they do go to school and work!

I am Christian. I love my life, except when I don't.

I quilt ...I sew (even more now that I have granddaughters)...and I still have a lot of rubber stamps from my card-making years ago...am getting back into it too! I do a lot of home dec and small sewing items. I really love man tools and can use them more recklessly than my husband. It's only a machine.

I am winning in the family brackets pool so far....for the FINAL FOUR! I won it last year too...and I know ..oh so very little about college basketball.

update...I won again...hahahahaha

2010....uh, not this year! But I guess we have to give others a chance on occasion! and the brackets are in place and this year the winner gets a 3-day vacay to the beach!

Favorite Music

I'm a die-hard heavy metal fan...but I really like all music...from gospel, bluegrass, jazz to Elvis and Bob Dylan, Beatles, Alice Cooper, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Avett Brothers... Van Morrison is my fav. I have a hard time with country (depends on the song/singer).

I think the new term for my music obsession is Americana....

Fav TV and Movies. and Reads

When I am crafting something...I watch COOKING shows, CSI, history channel and British comedy...EastEnders...Masterpiece Theatre, have fallen in love with Downton Abbey.

Love Monty Python...old Bette Davis, actually all old movies (The Women is divine), most Stephen King...and musicals too, Absolutely Fabulous, Graham Norton, love Alfred Hitchcock and horror /suspense....Rocky Horror Picture Show

Mere Christianity, The Stand, Secret Life of Bees, C.S. Lewis, The Giver, Shel Silverstein poetry and books....way too many and too diverse to list!

Tastes and Likes

Love flea markets, thrift stores, clearance racks and yard sales!...and I have the 'crap' to prove it!

My kitchen is decorated with red plus whatever color I want for the season....well, there is red in every room of the house but my son's rooms. Love teals and blues and greens...purples, pinks, reds...don't hate any color!

I LIKE sewing, crafting, cooking, aprons, dark chocolate, kitchen stuff, buttons, glam girl stuff (I am NOT too old), coffee, tea, silver jewelry, hairbands, orange smells and spicy cinnamon smells,beads, fabric (of course), vintage patterns, rick rack, fridge magnets, handmade soaps, thread, cleaning tips, Snoopy, any Dr. Seuss, real photos of churches and chapels, Dorothy Parker, Nestle Quik and Velveeta cheese, dark chocolate and super dark chocolate, choco coffee bean, lapis lazuli (stone), Tervis tumblers, Loralie designs fabric panels BUTTONS, any and all kinds,red or ruby glassware, thread, FQ's, paper crafts, cardmaking, collages (not a scrapbooker, but love the papers and embellishments for other projects),rubber stamping, altered boxes

I am trying to buy US made items unless not at all possible.

I DO NOT like:
cleaning house, cutesy stuff, or Disney, flavored coffees or teas, fruit or chewy candy, stickers make up, nail polish, perfume, country or primitive style

I've never had a charm pack, and have lately been eying them on all sorts of quilt sites, and I almost bought that exact seam ripper just yesterday, but decided it was a little too much right now---thanks so very much! If I could give a dozen hearts, they'd be yours!!...and I love post-its, too! thanks!
Response: Very happy you liked the pkg...I *know* the charm pack colors are not your colors, but I was hoping when it's already matched up you could find something to make...I use them for quilty gifts and I don't have to think about what goes with what!
