I enjoy creating altered art and doing mixed media projects. I like to use ephemera, stamps, interesting paper, magazine clippings, found objects and distress techniques. I love learning new techniques for altering objects, paper and creating assemblage art. I also like to use small metal bits of odds and ends that I repurpose in my art work. For some reason, I am on a major steampunk kick right now and I really love it. Recently I started a blog to document my artistic musings, feel free to stop by if you are curious. I always appreciate feedback and followers!
I also enjoy mail art, reading, antique/flea markets/garage sales, going to the library/art museums, hiking and taking care of my new home. I am an avid letterboxer and really enjoy carving stamps and making little books.
Themes I enjoy include: nature (trees, birds, butterflies, flowers, owls, mushrooms), fantasy (especially fairies and mermaids...I really, really love mermaids!), vintage, travel/postal/mail, clocks/compasses/gears, steampunk, architecture (pillars, arches, gates, fixtures such as locks, door plates and hinges) goddesses, astrology/celestial, geisha, tarot and new age/ religious/spiritual imagery from all cultures. I do not mind nudity.
Favorite color is probably green, but it changes on a regular basis. I usually gravitate towards earth/muted tones or jewel tones. Not really into primary colors or pastels.
Other things I enjoy: freshly ground coffeee, going to the farmers market, antiques/flea markets (love antique keys), making jewelry, reading, astrology, psychology/self help, tarot, nature and thrifting. Anything from Tim Holtz is fantastic as far as I am concerned.
I am not into cartoon characters and that genere of imagery. No foam embellishments, googlie eyes or "cutesy" kid orientated craft materials please. Stickers are welcome if they have a realistic quality and are on a clear back (and fit into my listed interests), but no cartoons, white borders or reward stickers. I have beaded for years and have a pretty good stash going already. I would be open to beading supplies, but my taste is expensive (gemstones/sterling silver). Please do not send anything you would not use yourself.
I love ephemera. I enjoy vintage images and papers used postage stamps and post cards, old tickets and receipts, travel ephemera, cigar bands and matchbooks. I also love natural paper and nature inspired/or foiled german scrap.
I am collecting materials to make my first altered book. The theme is mermaids. I would love any mermaid/ocean imagery, stamped images (or actual rubber stamps), ocean/mermaid themed papercraft items (quality stickers, paper, cards, magazine clippings, pages from books etc.)
I love watch parts, interesting game pieces and found objects. I am always open to embellishments (brads, game spinners, gears, clock faces, metal spare parts etc). Broken jewelry, old watches and metal junk, welcome. I don't have all that much ribbon or lace as I have only rececntly embraced these materials.
I am loving art journaling, also new to me thanks to swap-bot. I am amazed at how this site has helped me artistically. I think moleskines are the coolest and I love looking for ephemera to add daily. This is such a good artistic exercise. There is beauty and art everywhere.
I like making my envelopes special for my partners. One thing I really enjoy is when I get personalized address lables from my partners. They come in handy and having a variety is really great when creating mail art. I also enjoy handmade envelopes, stationery, letter sets, mail labels etc. I really love deco tape to use in my postal projects. Vintage unused stamps intrigue me too, I would love to trade for those.
Another rediscovered interest of late, is classic fairy tales. I have always been obsessed with Hans Christian Andersons's "The Little Mermaid," even with it's unique ending. This is the root of my mermaid infatuation, which has been with me since childhood. I also love Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Rapuznel to name a few. Please note, I enjoy the classic versions of these tales...no Disney please.

Hey Rhea, have you worked much with hot melt products like UTEE? I'm just starting to play with it and have had some trouble. Please send me a PM if you think you can advise me.
I love your blog and art! Such an inspiration :)
You're so amazing! CONGRATS!!! <3 <3 <3
CONGRATULATIONS RHEA!!! You truly deserve it!
Congrats on becoming a Graphic 45 team finalist :)
Okay, this is a bit random. I was just looking at your avatar & realised it's an owl! Obvious now, of course, but for the last few years I've been convinced it was a fish (tail down, head up). Maybe it's a colour thing... Anyway, just thought I'd share. ;) Merry Christmas!
Adored the box of curiosities on your blog! So very talented you are! Congrats on making the Alpha Stamps Team... I'm going to go look them up now. :)
