I'm 22 years old and work as a juvenile probation officer. I love my life. I'm married to an amazing man who loves and supports me in everything that I do. He's currently in the Navy but looking into getting out and starting his own business and I support him 100%. We love to go offroading in his Jeep from time to time when he isn't working on it. When I'm not working I love to do anything crafty or experiment in the kitchen. I watch Food Network to get ideas but very rarely follow a recipe.
Check out my websites if you want more insight into my life. I don't update it as much anymore but there is still some info in there.
Edit 06/1/08: I took a break from swapping due to getting married last October. Needed a few months off to adjust to married life and get things settled back in. But I'm back now! I won't be joining too many swaps until I get back in the groove of things but rest assured that I only join swaps I'm sure I can fulfill and I won't be letting anyone down.
I love crafts in general- sewing, jewelry making, knitting, crochet, spinning (drop spinning), dyeing yarn, refinishing furniture.... I like to design and sew purses and stuff for around the house like pillows and aprons and such. I've recently got into crafting with resin and stenciling tshirts. I also absolutely love to cook. We planted a garden this year which got me into canning as well.
Country is what I usually listen to if I'm not listening to podcasts on my iPod. I also love Broadway soundtracks and older music- the likes of Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby and such. And I like classical every now and then when I'm trying to relax. I guess there really isn't any music that I don't like, although rap is a bit lower on my list.
Food Network, HGTV, Top Chef, Grey's Anatomy ... That's all I can think of right now- I don't have much time to watch television. I'm trying to convince hubby to upgrade our cable so I get DIY
I haven't had the time to read much lately. I suppose what I have been gravitating towards more now are craft related books and magazines and my cookbooks. Every now and then I pick up a "financial" book- like those that help you to figure out what you want to do with your money and how to be rich someday. When it comes to fiction, I've been known to read the "trashy" romance novels and really love medical thrillers (like Robin Cook and Michael Palmer)
I like just about everything. Horror movies are great at home when I can cuddle up under a blanket and turn out all the lights... Comedies are good fun and almost always put me in a good mood. Same with kids movies (Pixar!) I've cried before at chick flicks 'cause the stories have the tendency of getting to me. And of course, any Broadway musical turned movie is something I love.
My favorite colors are anything in the blue/green/aqua family, also earthy colors like tans, greens, and browns... ooh, and deep purple... I'm working on getting my craft room set up (now that the roomies are finally gone) and the color scheme is there is black, white, silver, and red... I pretty much love all colors!
-I love sewing notions like zippers, buttons, bias tape, cording, different colored threads, ect. -I love all the aromatherapy scents- particularly lavendar and vanilla. I also like citrus-y scents- so refreshing. -I enjoy the outdoors- talking walks, riding my bike, visiting the mountains, fishing, gardening... pretty much anything where I can enjoy the beauty in nature. -Speaking of gardening, I love planting seeds and watching my 'babies' grow. This year we planted a vegetable garden and I'm out there every day watching the veggies grow. We have a few fruit trees too and I'm hoping this year the bugs and birds will share some of the fruit with me. -Icecream is my favorite way to end a night. Just not chocolate! I'm not a big fan of chocolate anything, except maybe hot cocoa. Now caramel, I LOVE caramel... and anything fruit flavored. Oh, and I don't drink coffee either. -NYC/Broadway- I've only been there once but oh how I loved the place. I also love Arizona- it's gorgeous and the weather actually agrees with me. -A nice glass (or bottle, depending on my mood) of wine in the evening while talking about the day and days to come. I love wine, especially from Italy. -I am very drawn to unique fabrics. It seems that a lot of stuff out there now is floral or animal prints, it's refreshing to see something different. -Handspun or handdyed yarn. I really like a lot of the indie yarn producers out there because having something like that is like a one of a kind masterpiece to me. -My iPod mini- it's practically attached to me and suffers a lot of wear and tear because I wasn't fortunate to get a case for it before Apple discontinued the mini. If someone happens to see one on clearance or something somewhere, I'd LOVE to save my baby! :) -I'm addicted to any kind of storage container... baskets, boxes, crates, bins, drawers, ect
-Quit my job and be able to stay home and craft all day! -There are very few crafts that I haven't tried out... I am interested in trying my hands at glasswork like stained glass and glass fusing. -I would love to go to Europe one day and experience all those cultures- it fascinates me. -Finish knitting a sweater... I've started one over a year ago and haven't really touched it since. I'm such a slacker -More yarn dyeing! One day I hope to get my act together enough to branch out past Koolaid and Jello and try the real stuff. I like using Wilton's icing dyes too!
I don't have any allergies that I am aware of. I don't mind if my items come from the dollar store or whatnot- you can find some cool stuff there- but please look at my profile before you send me random things you found around your house (unless that is the purpose of the swap. lol) If there isn't enough information on this profile to figure out stuff I like (heaven forbid!) then do look at my website too. Also, please no more stationary (unless the swap involves that)! Cards are ok, but I have paper coming out my ears and I'm not much of a writer other then notes to throw in with my swaps.
