EDIT 8/28/22 - My newest collection is to put together a deck of playing cards that have all different photos on the back. If we are swapping and you have any, I'd be extra grateful!!! I'm just starting this today, so I need any and all. Thanks in advance!
I am a crafter of 50+ years. I am married with two adult children. I have five grandchildren ranging in ages of 4 - 18.
MY FAVORITE THINGS TO DO:
ATCs - I am in two private groups. One is family and friends and has 5 participants. We swap any ATCs on every even month of the year. The other is Facebook JAM group that I absolutely love! For this group, it's nice to have everything in three's because all cards are in sets of threes. If we are swapping supplies, any 3 of anything n g is appreciated.
Card making - I am technically a Stampin' Up demonstrator, but I only do it to support my habit. I'm what they call a hobbyist. I do not just use SU because I LOVE anything Tim Holtz, Hero Arts, Divinity Designs and so many more.
I make cards for my family and friends for all occasions. I am also part of a Women's Life group that meets every month and we do a lot of charity volunteering. All members get a homemade birthday card, from the group. They look forward to them!
Junk Journaling - I like to use a lot of ephemera made from maps, book pages, music sheets and any different kind of paper I can get my hands on.
Quilting - This is in my blood from my Grandmother . She was an avid quilter and my mom did a bit, too. I love fabric and have made quilts for my parents, siblings, kids, hubby and more.
Repurposing - I love going to garage sales and flea markets and finding found objects and repurposing and bringing them to life or a new life. I have a she-shed that I do the bigger projects in.
Penpals - I have penpals all over the US that I write to regularly. I like to write real letters in a digital world because I so enjoy finding memorabilia from my family and ancestors. It means so much and someday, people won't have those artifacts because it will be lost in cyberspace.
Cross Stitch - I rekindled my love of cross stitch during COVID. Needlepoint was one of my first crafts in my 7th grade home economics class and them I tried cross stitch and was hooked! Until the last couple of years, I hadn't cross stitch in 20 years. My how different it is now!
Crochet - this is a craft that I am learning. I used to crochet simple straight afghans 30+ years ago with my ex-MIL. Recently, I've been following Lori Holt and make granny squares. They are quick gratification and sometimes we need that, right?!?!
MY STYLE is VINTAGE:
I collect old canning jars and have MANY! I love the thrill of the hunt!
For crafting, anything Tim Holtz is my style. I love to ink and grunge things up!
I have quilts all over my house.
90% of my furniture is antiques.
Outside the crafting world, I like most metaphysical things; stone, crystals, essential oils, incense, tarot cards to draw and basically read as my fortune for the day. I am not a card reader. I like macrame and anything hippy-ish. I think I was a hippie in a past life.
I like biking, gardening, reading, organizing, canning & freezing food and one of my favorite things to do is cook and entertain!!
