Hi there, my name is Sarah and I am here because I love playing with papers and making snail mail :-) I'm 31 years old and I'm from The Netherlands. My native language is Dutch, but I also know some basic German and a little bit of Spanish. I work as a teaching assistant, but I also have a degree in communication.
πΈπ Quick interests ππΈ
In my spare time I enjoy crafting with a cup of tea, especially on a rainy day. I also love flowers, quite a few types of insects and snails π! Other subjects / themes I enjoy are mushrooms, crystals, astrology and those old botanical or anatomical drawings. If we're gonna talk aesthetics then the first two to come to my mind are cottagecore and light academia, but I love to add accents of bright and bold colors to those.
My favorite colors are blues and greens, especially aqua/turqoise/mint, but I've also been adoring pops of hot pink, lilac and ochre yellow a lot lately. And for someone who saves a lot of minimal white and beige inspiration to her Pinterest boards, I sure have a hard time working with those colors!
There are many, many, many things that I like and would love to receive, but these are my current most sought-after items:
π Book pages in any other language than Dutch. I'm having a hard time obtaining books in foreign languages in my local thrift shops, so if you have any pages you would like to share then I'd love that!
πΈ Girl stickers! I don't have any of these yet, but I absolutely adore the look of them.
π Washi samples, washi stickers and washi dots. There is no such things as too much washi tape π€ But please not the plastic finish kind, especially on the tape. I just can't get those to look good.
πΈ PET stickers of flowers, insects and doilies. Another craft item that I have yet to try, but am absolutely fascinated by.
π Soft ribbons, laces and thin yarns with pieces of fluff scattered over them. I'm having a hard time finding any of these locally without a them having a plastic feel / finish to them.
πΈ Vintage looking tickets, labels and postage stamps. I don't have many of these yet, but I absolutely adore them.
π Wax seals in any type! I absolutely adore making wax seals myself and I love to see how other people make and incorporate them into their mail as well.
πΈ Embossed papers, especially in neutral tones. There is just something about seeing little bits of embossed paper in layers that makes my heart flutter a little bit.
π Fussy cut insects, birds or flowers are always a hit with me.
There are not a lot of things that I dislike, but like any person I do have a few things I'd rather not receive:
πΈ Please don't send me holographic prints or items with holographic finishings. I don't think they are ugly, but unfortunately they tend to make me feel dizzy when I look at them π
π Items with loose glitters or loose metallic foil bits. I do LOVE the look of these, but I can't stand getting them on my hands or anywhere else. But things like glittery tape, glitters / foil mixed into wax seals, glitters in shakers, glitters / foil sealed with glossy accents etc. are all cool π₯°
πΈ Very grungy or very shabby themed items. I think they can definitely look lovely, but I prefer a more minimal look. Slightly distressed is definitely okay though!
π I used to be very into kawaii stuff, but nowadays I prefer stuff without faces on everything.
πΈπ TV-series and movies ππΈ
I'm a huge fan of Doctor Who, but I haven't watched every season just yet (currently watching Capaldi's first season). My favorite Doctor is David Tennant and I can't wait to watch the specials staring him for the 60th anniversary!
Other shows I enjoy(ed) are Sabrina (both the original series and the new one), Riverdale, Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, Shadowhunters and finally Supernatural (of which I haven't seen every season yet either, but my favorite character is without a doubt Castiel)
As for movies: I am a big Star Wars fan, but also love Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Golden oldies to me are Dragonheart and The Neverending Story, but I've not seen any of their sequals.
Bottom-line here is that if a show is science-fiction / fantasy related, I will likely be interested! But not Game of Thrones though. I have never been able to get into that one..
πΈπ Video games ππΈ
There are many, many, MANY videogames that I love, but my ultimate favorite is The Sims. I've been playing since the original game released and never stopped. Other games I adore are Minecraft, Animal Crossing, Subnautica, Terraria, the original Rollercoaster Tycoon, and my the most recent addition to my collection Lets Build a Zoo!
