I'm Stephanie, a 30 something momma of 3 who loves to swap. I used to participate in swaps on a couple of "mom" type of sites until
I am mostly into sewing and altered art and altered jewelry. I have had 3 different sewing businesses since I became a mom 9 yrs ago. My first business was a very busy cloth diaper business that I closed down because it was too successful and I just didn't want to take the next step to make it even bigger. My second business was a dollmaking business, SnuggleBees, that grew large enough that I was approached to sell it and did so when I was pregnant with my second child. And my last business I keep very small, I design my own sewing patterns and offer them for sale on my blog. I also put up a lot of free tutorials on my blog.
I inhale books. I stopped reading after having my first child. I just didn't have time, and by the time baby #2 came along a few years later, I was desperate to get back to reading, so now I make it a priority to read. My favorite genres are historical fiction, occult fiction (like witches, etc.), and science fiction. I love time travel themes, especially when all 3 genres are combined, lol - I love The Discovery of Witches books.
My favorites are: The Time Traveler's Wife, The Long Earth, The Thirteenth Tale, The Stolen Child, Blood for Flowers, Midnight in the Dragon Cafe, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Queen's Fool, The Constant Princess, Promise Not to Tell, The Double Bind, Island of Lost Girls, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Lovely Bones, Lucky, Mirror Mirror, The Devil Wears Prada, Jemima J, Good in Bed, Goodnight Nobody, Everyone Worth Knowing, The Bonesetter's Daughter, The Joy Luck Club....anything by Amy Tan.
I love dollmaking, especially waldorf dolls, but I love to make other dolls too. I just went through the Wee Wonderfuls book and it was a lot of fun. I also love to applique, especially upcycled clothing. I love altered art and altered jewelry. I wish I could knit better, but it makes my hands go numb, which goes for crochet too. .
I love indie singer songwriters like Iron & Wine, Matt Duke, Matt Nathanson, Ed Sheeran, Jack's Mannequin, The Weepies, Joshua Radin
More main stream music I like: Jason Mraz - love his new album, John Mayer, Sia, Blue October, Boys like Girls, Frou Frou, Rooney, Sara Barellies, Blink-182, New Order, Finger Eleven, Imogen Heap, Evanescence, All American Rejects, Roisin Murphy, Liz Phair
Once Upon a Time, Arrow, Fringe, Lost, Damages, House, Jericho, Project Runway, Dr. Who, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead
