In my spare time, I like to hang out with friends, watch movies, and knit. I am learning to crochet but it is slow going. I also like to make beaded jewelry.

I love knitting lace socks and other small things like hats or convertible mittens. I have made a few sweaters but never liked them enough to wear so it kind of defeated the purpose. I won't say I'll never do one again but I'd have to really be committed to the pattern. My favorite kind of yarn is alpaca but I work with plain old merino wool most of the time. I usually buy brightly colored yarns (pink, green, blue) and all kinds of blues except navy.

I have a dog named River. She is a heeler/border collie mix and she is a handful. She loves learning new tricks. She's stuck on "play dead" right now, and whenever I try to tell her to do something different she just collapses on the floor anyway.

I also have 2 cats that I rescued. One is a siamese/dsh mix named Fishbone and the other is, I think, a Maine Coon mix named Gingham, although he was the runt of the litter so he is very small (without all the hair, that is).
