Hi! Thanks for taking the time to visit and read my profile. I appreciate it :)!
I live in the redwoods of California, where there is endless fog and rain, but endless beauty. I love to craft in my spare time, and will try anything I can get my hands on. I recently discovered mail art, and I'm just starting to consider myself an artist. I prefer to keep things clean as far as content and language, and I would appreciate it if you would be considerate of my preferences.
Just a note: communication is very important to me. If I do not recieve a swap, I will make my best effort to get in touch with you and sort things out before rating a 1. If you ever don't receive something from me for a swap, please let me know before rating a 1. I would be happy to resend and work things out. USPS isn't perfect, so missing things can happen on all ends.
Also, another technicality: A family member of mine with the username "agatehunter" lives in the same house as me, and shares the same address. I have had this approved by Rachel, and just wanted to post this here so that you guys know that I'm NOT a multiple profiler. Thanks!
I love all sorts of crafts, but recently I have been involved in mail art. I absolutely love collage, and especially love to collage with magazine cutouts and other recycled and found items. However, I am totally willing to attempt just about anything, and like pushing my boundaries with mixed media swaps and such.
Recently, I made my own handmade gelli plate, and I'm completely addicted! It's so much fun the pull up the paper and have no idea exactly what it will look like! I'd love to see any of your prints, or any texture tools/stencils/tips and techniques for my plate!
As far as craft supplies go, I'm open to just about anything, but I do have my favorites. I don't have the biggest budget for art and craft supplies in the world, so I try to work with what I have.
MAIL ART!!!!! I love to receive mail art from everyone and everywhere; it really makes my day. I am also open to private/informal long term mail art exchanges, so if you're into that sort of thing, let me know!
Fun things cut out from magazines for collage. I love fun words and phrases, and can always use cut out images from magazines. They are my favorite things to collage with.
Handmade gel skins, or other types of image transfers. I have attempted to make these myself, with varying results. I would be honored if you would send me your handmade versions!
Nice black and colored drawing pens(Sakura Micron Pens are wonderful, and I also like playing with sharpies, both fine and bold tips.)
Hand painted/collaged on/stamped on/decorated papers. Hand decorated papers make me very happy, and are great backgrounds/accents to my handmade postcards.
Anything blue or green, or really any colors(well maybe a little less pink and purple).
Handmade envelopes and/or decorated envelopes for me to send swaps in. If you are going to send me handmade envelopes, PLEASE make sure that they are big enough to fit a postcard inside. Thanks :)
Cancelled postage! I love to decoupage with cancelled postage(off of paper, please) and would love to increase my collection. I'm not picky as far as age or anything, I'd just prefer that they are off paper(or soakable) because they are much thinner and easier to decoupage with that way.
Zines: I really enjoy zines on the how-to topic, especially in the arts/crafts category. I love learning new techniques/concepts via zines! However, I would really love to see just about any zine that you have made!
I am always on the hunt for new adhesives. If you have a favorite and feel like passing some along, I can guarantee you that it will be appreciated!
Stencils!! Either hand cut or bought, I would love some geometric or abstract designs for playing on my gelli plate.
Anything else for my gelli plate! Stencils, masks, texture plates or ideas, inspiration, or anything else you can think of.
Handmade stamps or stamped images from handmade stamps
Erasers for carving handmade stamps out of
Other stamp carving supplies
Birds
The ocean, and all of its creatures!
I really don't have much use for these items. If you end up sending them to me, I'll probably re-gift them. Sorry :(
Tea
Candy, or really any edibles. I don't want food.
Cutesy, children's, or reward stickers.
Punchies/gift tags aren't really my thing. However, if you have cool handcut shapes, I'd love to include them in my collages.
Pink and purple things
Foam stickers or sheets
Religion related things...Nothing against religion or religious crafting, it's just not up my alley!
Scented things. I'm very sensitive to scents.
I love handmade stuff and art, whether you collage, paint, draw, or who knows what else, handmade things are wonderful. Handmade postcards always make my day :)!
I love anything nature themed, including animals, wildlife, plants, landscapes, lakes, oceans, and just about anything natural.
Love ocean animals
Also love birds, trees, and leaves
I also love repeated designs. Whether its geometric, abstract, zentangles, or whatever else you can think of, I find patterns calming to my eyes.
