Hi... My name is Deb and I am beginning a new chapter in my life. My kids are all grown, my husband passed away, I moved to the lake and closed my bookstores. All this and I'm only 35 years old... no, not really... I feel like I'm 35 but I'm trapped in a 50 something body :-)
I have crafted for many years. My first 'big girl' job after graduating was teaching crafts at The Craft Showcase... A Michael's 'wanna be' that started in the early 1970s. They brought in all the big guns to teach me crafts so I could then teach. Stained glass and Macrame were really big back then.
As I married and had children the crafts continued. I was the mom that volunteered to sew the school play costumes... the one to have the neighborhood kids paint rolls of paper on the driveway to make gift wrap. It was not unusual for my husband to come home from work to see yards and yards and yards of dyed fabric hanging from the trees in the backyard drying.
I sew as easily as most people breathe... but I also get excited about using glue guns, beads, round nose pliers, and anything to do with paper.
Bright and modern would be the best words to describe my craft supplies. I tend to select hot pinks, purples, lime greens, and oranges. Stripes, polka dots, triangles, hearts, stars, bold flowers and solids make me sing. However... there is a softer side of me that every once in a while pops out and I fall in love with sweet roses, vintage lace, fairies, and... pocket pigs (they are just too cute).
Things in the sky intrigue me... rain showers, snow, fall leaves, lightning bugs, fireworks, fog, feathers, balloons, birds, butterflies... you name it... makes me smile.
