I'm 45, live in Detroit, married with one adult son and (now) six cats and four goldfish. I'm a former longtime newspaper reporter and I love to read, write and waste time on the computer.

Alternative rock, especially stuff that's loud and completely inappropriate for my age. 80s "new wave." U2,Tori Amos and Peter Gabriel. Also like some older rap. And I like world music, some New Age, some folk, classical and opera. My only dislikes are country and most pop music.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon; Kill Bill; Serenity; LOTR; tons more. Love sci-fi, fantasy, horror, indie and good action-adventure stuff.

Battlestar Galactica (the new one), ER, 24, Dr. Who (the new one), CSI:NY, Rescue Me, The Shield, both Stargates, The Unit (hunky boys!) and I adore Japanese anime and have an extensive collection. I mostly watch Sci-Fi, Cartoon Network and FX.
