I'm not on swap bot at present as there seems to be post problems I can do nothing about. I am sending parcels by the quite expensive signed and tracked system which are either not being collected by my partners and I have to resend or are signed for and then I am told they were not received. My last swap with a lovely swapper ended up costing me more than $90 and so much worry . Thanks for all your lovely parcels and friendship. If anything I have sent has not arrived, please email me xx
Hi everyone, I live in England, in Staffordshire, with my husband, sons and lovely border collie. I swap because I love to connect with people in different places and find out a little about who you are. The world needs a lot more love and kindness and filling each other's mailboxes with happy mail seems a great place to start.
Well I've been here for 4 months now and it has mainly been wonderful. You are a kind, helpful and generous community and I am delighted to be here.
A bit about us swapping together: I am sending from England. Currently post to Western Europe seems to take about 4/5 days, post to the USA between 8 - 15 days and to Australia, Canada and NZ between 2 to 3 weeks. Russia, Malaysia, Israel and South America have taken up to a month.
However even though I always pay for packets to go airmail, occasionally they seem to end up going by the slower service and that can take a lot longer.
I automatically get given a proof of posting slip from the post office for each item of mail sent outside the UK.
PLEASE contact me if you do not receive anything I send or it gets damaged in the post. I love being here far too much to want anything to spoil it
I love to write letters and I have 5 penpals who I exchange long letters with. I also have a few notecard pals where we send a monthly notecard to each other with a short note, a bit like a RR. I do miss friendship sheets and round robin letters and I'm hoping I might find some here to join.
I exchange postcards throughout the world and am always happy to see a postcard on the mat - makes me smile all day.
I collect bookmarks, pin cushions, postcards, fridge magnets, pencils and anything with a dog on it.
We have a special border collie who we knew before we adopted her would need to be the only dog I think it would be safe to say that I am crazy about dogs - all of them. I'm lucky enough to live in the most beautiful area and you'll often find me out walking with her,
We also go camping and as a history enthusiast,I'm never short of places to visit.
I've had some problems with my fingers recently so I can no longer knit and embroider as I used to.
However that's given me a chance to try out lots of new things and I'm experimenting with:
Lots of paper crafts,
folk art painting (I'm not any good at all but I enjoy it),
book folding
and drying herbs and flowers from my garden to decorate stationery and other items.
My favourite are detective mysteries and period dramas - anything with long dresses and afternoon tea.
Programmes about wildlife or history.
I also like quiz shows.
Books! Books! I love books. I read so much it is difficult to choose favorites. I can't imagine life without books
At the moment I am reading a cozy mystery and a travel book. I like mystery books as I like puzzles of all types.
If we ever swap, I would love to know your favourite book
All dogs - anything relating to dogs (or wolves) will make me smile . Wildlife birds, fish, insects and animals - I like them all, even the ones that others find scary or horrible.
Flowers
Hand fans
Chocolate - any and all chocolate
Favourite scents are fresh, fruity and floral. I love lemon scented shower products. White musk is gorgeous. For the house I like fresh linen/cotton, lavender and rose.
The colour yellow
Crystals
Candles
Christmas all the year round
Sunsets and sunrises
Stars, moons and planets
Notecards, writing paper and envelopes
Doodles and stick figure drawings
Mountains, waterfalls, natural parks, rocks and stones
Things relating to the weather - particularly clouds
Bookmarks
Sea shells
I'd also like to hear about you, a favorite poem, verse from a song, a fun fact about where you live, a recipe that works, pets you have, a quote you like
Rude or unkind people..
I think that's about it, I find most things interesting particularly if you have taken the trouble to send it.
Licorice
Nuts - I'm not allergic I just don't lie them
