i'm a seamstress- i make broadway costumes for a living. i'm the only artistic one in my family, so i've always felt a little bit like the black sheep. :) i'm new to swap-bot but so far i am really enjoying it! look in my photobucket for examples of the crafty stuff i do, along with some costume stuff i've done (and a couple of my tattoos that i designed).

mixed media collage, shadowboxes, dia de los muertos; anything involving victorian photographs and tintypes, vintage reproduction posters, tattoo, pin-up, tiki, kitchy, white trash, goth/industrial, and anything with a sense of humor. i have old victorian photographs of people and babies that i don't know with blank expressions hanging all over the house. i like typeset drawers filled with little bits and hanging on the wall. i like gluing stuff to other stuff- i once covered an old guitar with mementos from my childhood, including a few of my baby teeth. i make a lot of picture frames and stash boxes. i collect pbr bottlecaps obsessively. i've also started dipping my toes into the photography/photoshopping pool, but it's still too cold for a proper swim.

old school punk, deathrock, early goth, rockabilly, industrial/ebm, real early country, new wave/eighties, some girly rock, grunge, metal, classical, and lots of little-known mid-nineties bands with stupid names and big, sweeping guitars.

everything by kurt vonnegut, irvine welsh, hunter s thompson, george orwell. also like milan kundera, umberto eco, anything related to costume history and construction, protecting the environment, liberal humor (i.e the bush haters handbook) or the history of punk. classic stuff like electric kool-aid acid test, one flew over the cuckoos nest, fahrenheit 451, the return of the native, stranger in a strange land, jane eyre, etc. the harry potter series! comics- the sandman, johnny the homicidial maniac and other jhonen vasquez type stuff. oh, and anything pertaining to true crime, serial killers, and criminal psychology.

colors: any shade of red, particularly burgundy/maroon; black, grey, hot pink, neon blue, yellow. i like obnoxiously bright palettes as well as dark and subtle palettes. and if it sparkles, even better.

design stuff: glittery, skulls, stars, plaid, studded, leather, DIY, screen printing, really clean and simple futuristic graphic design, horror with humor, steampunk, some gothy stuff, robots, weathered antique-y stuff, moustaches and beards! they are so hilarious

foods: cheese! i really like vegetables, fruit i can take or leave. i have a terrible sweet tooth and have been known to eat chocolate frosting straight from the tub. anything organic, whole wheat, and homemade is fine by me. (mmm, beer bread!) just don't come near me with anything from the sea, fish makes me sick. :(

i'm obsessed with the simpsons!

i'm also really big on coffee, smoking and alcohol paraphenalia. i.e ashtrays and matchbooks and pipes and shotglasses.
