I am a 28 year old project manager. I am also hopelessly addicted to knitting and am just as hopelessly trying to improve my sewing skill! There's lots of info on my blog, too :) I won't repeat it all here. But I do live with my boyfriend of 6+ years and our two dogs, Zosia & Jimmy Ray :)
KNITTING! I also know how to crochet, but I don't do it unless it's some sort of finishing on a knitted item. I am learning to sew so I can make curtains and pillows for the house. I've also done minor upholstery projects, but not sure that counts as a craft :)
I'm pretty 'all inclusive' with music. . . except for Rap/Hip-Hop. I love live music, but I hate the crowds. . .so makes it tricky!
I love non-fiction books that are a 'study' on something. A few of my favorites are by Susan Douglas, who I had the great opportunity to take a Communications class from while I was in college. I'm currently reading 'Dark Age Ahead' by Jane Jacobs. For fiction, I've read all the Mary Higgins Clark mysteries and I'm also a big fan of Ray Bradbury.
By far, Dirty Dancing is my hands down favorite. I also own a complete Alfred Hitchcock collection. I despise any modern horror movies, though. . . too big a baby!
TV is BAD NEWS! I'm totally addicted to trash reality TV (ahem. . . I Love New York . . . ahem). I also love 'The Office', 'What Not To Wear' and any home improvement/design show on TLC/A&E/HGTV. And, if forced into truth, I also watch General Hospital religiously!!
Yarn is clearly one of my weaknesses! Malabrigo is my absolute favorite. I also love Alpaca and alpaca blends (like berroco Ultra Alpaca). For sweaters and such, I really prefer merino and silk/merino blends. For socks, I prefer superwash mixed with nylon or polyamide, rather than 100% wool. I haven't tackled any lace projects yet, but am working up to it! I use only bamboo DPNs and either Addi or Bryflex circs. I don't use straight needles. I covet Socks that Rock yarn. I've used it once and love it, but alas is hard to come by on the East Coast!
I tend to like rich, saturated color more than pastels. I like jewel tones. Deep green and burgundy/red hold a tie for my favorite color. I do not knit up whites/creams but will knit muted earth tones that include white or cream. I prefer semi-solids to wildly variegated yarn, but some variegateds are ok if they are limited in color.
I have a crazy sweet tooth. Haribo gummi bears and twizzlers are probably my faves. . . and York peppermint patties!
I am always in need of small notebooks and notecards.
I can always use some cute point protectors, I always seem to lose them! I've been dying to get one of those DPN tubes, too!
