Trees are important to me to, so it was the most PERFECT thing you could have made for me! And I love that is was actually hand drawn - so often the ATCs are not. Mine are always hand drawn. Comment: You aced your section. The tranquil Japanese scene is gorgeous. I'll do my best to do it justice. Regarding weather here in SW Ontario. We've had a couple of days of oddly smoky hazy days. Never experienced this before in my 6 decades of life. The winds are blowing down smoke from forest fires in the northern parts of 2 provinces. There are a lot of forest fires this year. My sister reminded me that we haven't had rain since Mother's Day. It's not awful though, just very strange to experience these new weather patterns in the last few years.
Response: Thank you for the heart! The strangest weather change in Germany over the past few years was this year. Until May January was the warmest month of 2023 and New Years day the warmest day.

Comment: A lovely new postcard, I like how you divided it into triangles. Your cherry blossom drawing is very pretty. And I like the flower doodle on the envelope. The postal machines bent the card a little and chewed up a small part of section 3. I ironed the card and it's looking pretty good. I'm going to fill section 3 to cover up the torn bit.

Response: The literal translation from German seems to hold up in English, too: silk paper (Seidenpapier). It's traditionally used to wrap presents, actually. But if it gets wet the color drains onto everything .... :P

I am very happy to hear that you are enjoying my handmade swaps. Handmade swaps tend to be much less popular because it takes more time, effort, and tools/supplie. Sometimes participation gets dangerously close to zero. "Ghost swaps" (like ghost towns) are scaryyy! Yet, I still want to host nothing other than handmade because I value the personal touch and thoughts in handmade cards. To me that is the soul of swapping. Looking forward to more swapping with you!
Response: Up until this moment I never heard about cutting machines for crafting.. I'm fascinated by their existence! After making those cards for the swaps recently I actually bought a cutting mat and craft knifes because cutting the popups with scissors was a bit of a pain ;). I tried it yesterday and it's so much easier!

Ive started reading horror and really enjoyed Horrorstor by Grady Hendrix. I also read Cracked up the be by Courtney summers, it was good but really sad.

Response: 28.Dez.22: I'm happy my postcard arrived now, too. I love that stamp aswell - it's the first 0,85€ stamp with a barcode - and the only barcoded stamp that is actually pretty. The others I really don't want to send out so I got a bunch of those and am adding the other values with the smaller flower stamps. 10.Dez.22: As much as I'd love to take credit for this beautiful rating here, I think you might've mixed up two postcards? I sent you a stylized tree in a golden glitter wind/snow thingy... And I don't think I added puffy Santa's, unless I did that after I took the picture of the postcard :) I have a feeling that someone else deserves this lovely message more than I, maybe?

I was asked how long at the most would I be away. If not back, they would come to look for me. I had a meal. "Sorry not Available" most every thing. Coffee with cream and sugar cost more than without. My favorite building was a hospital with red colored growth up the sides. It was fall. I saw No Man;s Land--the foreign Embassies neglected and abandoned. I travelled a lot then by myself.

Comment: Thanks for the card and tea! Our weather is so crazy here, we’ve had snow and then a few days later it was warm again. My town does have all of that stuff you mentioned, and I love all of those things yet I’m not a fan of my town lol. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve lived here so long that I’m bored of here but I feel like there isn’t a lot to do around here. I’m sure Germany is way better! Lol. This year I’m off work for the holiday which is a huge plus, we’re going to spend the day opening gifts, watching holiday movies and eating good food! I can’t wait to see my little ones faces when they wake up Christmas morning, that’s my favorite part of the day! Take care!

Comment: Thank you for your note card. Have an enjoyable "Frohe Weihnachten!" I find it interesting you cannot find a German Christmas card. I cannot find holiday cards in different languages in stores, maybe online.
Response: Ever since I noticed it I went into every shop that sells cards here in Berlin. And my quantitative analysis still supports the initial findings: most are in English. There are some French ones, too, but even less than German.

Comment: Enjoyed your letter! Halloween isn't so much of a big deal for us anymore. My youngest is 16 and went to a party. My boys are grown and my husband is from Argentina and has never really liked it. :( Glad you had fun!
