Comment: Congrats on getting your paper organized in a manner that works for you! I also have too much paper...more than I will ever use in my lifetime haha! And I hear you on the meal planning struggles too as almost everynight I have to ask myself "whats for dinner?" and then try to figure it out on the fly....so not a good system. I hope to hear from you in future rounds!
Response: I still usually wind up figuring something out on the fly, or at least sometime on the day of... as long as at the end of the day you eat, it's all good IMO. I feel that way too... and yet I keep collecting more, because I may not use it ALL in my lifetime, but I might very well use -THAT- piece, lol. Take Care :)

(There's a historical fiction book, "As Bright As Heaven", about the Spanish Flu epidemic and it was such a good book! I've been thinking of it all through this year!) I love that your video conferenced your Thanksgiving dinner! That's a wonderful idea! Thanks for sharing. :)
Response: I may have to look for that book. I read some things about it back in the day, but I don't remember all the details. And yes! The Thanksgiving dinner worked surprisingly well, I was really pleased! Take Care :)

Also, Terry Pratchett is my favorite author forever, even though I didn't really get into him until college (because the books had witches & wizards) and I still haven't read the last Tiffany Aching book, because I can't bear to know I've finished them all. GNU Terry Pratchett.

I hope Miss Bella has forgiven you for displacing her from your Christmas craft supply box by now! :) I have given the postcards you included for my Mom and she said thank you! I usually look forward to spending Christmas Eve/morning at my Dad's house as they always host his wife's kids and such but I will be forgoing that this year. It is ok though...I am thinking about doing something a bit different this year so hopefully it will still be ok. Different but good!

Comment: Greetings, Thank you for the lovely gold card, bird stickers, & notecard. They are beautiful. Your pretty handwriting reminded me of my sweet dear departed aunt. It’s so precise & clear. Yes I have been to Montreal in the early 80s. I visited the Notre Dame church & St. Joseph’s as well as downtown Montreal. Such a gorgeous city. I love the “it’ll be alright” saying. My mom’s side of the family were French Canadian & as kids we were always trying to figure out what the adults would talking about. As for pocket letters and zentangles I am afraid I haven’t done much of either for some time. Only if someone wants to do a private swap. I so enjoyed your swap & I look forward to swapping with you again. Sien Allez faire du ski? Is about as much French as I remember and la bibliotech for library.🌻 Happy swapping.

It came at just the perfect time! I remember those Halloween costumes! I had one once, I think I was one of the Snorkles. Usually we would just throw a costume together from something warm at the house and my mom would use her makeup to paint our faces. Sounds like we grew up poor... or maybe a better way to think of that, is thrifty. Happy Halloween!
Response: Glad you enjoyed it, I enjoyed picking it out. And more often than not we were "hobos" with clothes that otherwise were in the rag-bag, so we were also thrifty :)

Comment: This is so crazy. I know exactly what GNR/Metallica show you were talking about. That was supposed to be my very first concert my friends and I were going to go to alone (in Mtn. View at the Shoreline) we were so bummed when James Hetfield had that accident and had to reschedule. It was Use Your Illusion right? I hope you get to see them.
Response: Wow, small world eh? Yeah, that would be the one. Take Care :)

Comment: Hi Tatum! Thank you very much for your so nice note about your home town Halloween experiences. Thanks for sharing. Thank you too for the great Halloween card & postcard, all the stickers! Loving all! I love Halloween! But I did not have any childhood memories of Halloween trick or treating etc. I didn't have a good childhood at all. My mother wasn't a good a mother. I made up for the Halloween though when got a lot older & went to Halloween parties. Not the boozy ones though. Not a drinker period! But I had fun!
Response: So glad you enjoyed it! Trying to get into the spirit even though we're not sure what's happening with Halloween this year. Take Care :)

Comment: Tatum, when I read your email - the first thing I thought was how much alike we are! From the starting out in filing things to things just being shoved in "where ever" to other things you wrote about and I'm like, yep - that sure sounds like me! lol I think you got a lot done and am proud of you. Every little bit that gets done is a win for us, right?!
Response: It's nice to know it's not just me! And yes, these swaps are making noticeable improvements in what I have done. I can't exactly just write an email saying "Well, I looked at the things and then thought 'Nope, not today!'" now can I?

Comment: Thanks for the postcard. Lovely to hear from you! I did like 'Good Omens' which I had listened to a year or so ago. I think "American Gods' was my favorite. I love the Stardust movie and think it was one of the few cases where I enjoyed the movie more than the book. ('Jaws' was another). In both cases it is probably because I saw the movie first.

Comment: Thanks for sharing! You know, it's good to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't like to journal - it seems that everyone loves to journal their lives! I'm terrible at it. I did get a baby book for our first son and kept some things up to date, and then at some point, I just started stuffing in newspapers or fliers for things we did! haha! For the other 2 kids, I have a list on a notepad for first tooth and the like, but that's as far as any of it ever got. I'm terrible!! I did take lots of pictures, but I haven't really gotten around to putting them into albums at all, and about 4 years worth of digital pictures are being held hostage on an old lap top! I didn't back the files up, and something happened to the computer. So, I'm a terrible mom, no baby books. :( Thanks for sharing! :)
Response: Mine aren't that great. If it wasn't for the photos they'd be a little barren. For the laptop, you can buy a hard drive case, open the laptop, pop out the hard drive, put it in the case and then use it like an extended hard drive in another laptop. Just make sure to only open the file folders that have pictures in case some of the other data on the drive is corrupted.

Comment: Thank you for sharing your journaling stories! Knowing about your journaling story, and my own, I do wonder if there are people who actually can keep a diary long-term, or if that's just a thing that happens only in fiction.
Response: I know right?! I'm sure some can, but I suspect that the diary business is largely supported by people's failed attempts.

Comment: I enjoyed reading your e-mail. Some of it sounded so familiar to me. F.ex. I hate all kinds of bureaucratic paperwork and tend to let miscellaneous more or less important papers pile up, and procrastinate filing them or doing whatever else they require from me.. Also your description of cutting the cat's claws brought up memories :D Luckily my current cat is quite the opposite, and giving her pills, cutting the claws etc is easy peasy. Good luck with the rest of your hall closet project!
Response: And she's such a sweetie until you are doing something she doesn't like too! There's actually a note in her vet file that says she's difficult and a scratcher, so embarrassing!

Comment: wow, great response! I've never been big on romances, but I'm trying some of them out now. Though, to be fair, when I was in high school I DID read VC Andrews books - those aren't romances, but I certainly had some "wait, what?!" moments. I'm sure it would have been comical to watch me read those books! haha!
Response: Romance is super character driven. I can pretty much tell you I've never wound up enjoying a romance if I didn't like the characters within the first 20% of the book. So my recommendation would be if you aren't entranced with the characters early on, dump it in favor of a different book. Life's too short to read things we don't enjoy.

Comment: Thanks so much for a great letter. :) I don't think I've read the books you are talking about, but I feel like I've read some by that author. I'll have to look it up. I have read a LOT of cozy mysteries over the past few years, and I subscribe to KU on and off, so I've read lots of those books. Plus I get offers for free or reduced price ebooks, as well. I know Amazon is evil and all that, but sometimes it's hard to fight against. :( These books sound like fun, though. I'll check them out. Thanks for a great swap! IT's been nice getting to know you. :)
