Description:

LITTLE SCOTTIE DOGS-- SEW CRAFTYâ„¢SWAP #7!

Love those cute little Scottie dogs? While I have 2 adorable little Pomeranians for pets, I have fallen in love with those darling little black Scottish terriers and their overflowing cuteness. Besides, since we celebrated Ireland in SEW CRAFTYâ„¢Swap #7, it's time to give Scotland it's due! BEAM ME UP, SCOTTIE (DOG)!!

Even if you don't have any fabric with these cuties on it, you can make a little Scottie stuffie for your partner! So join in the fun!

THEME: "LITTLE SCOTTIE DOGS"

CATEGORIES:

  1. Scottie dogs
  2. Tartan or other Scottish-styled plaid
  3. Black & Red
  4. Mary Engelbreit
  5. WILD CARD FREE CHOICEâ„¢
  6. Treat
  7. Note

ITEMS: You will send one item for each category. If you send an item that qualifies for more than one category, please choose which category it represents. You can, of course, send more if you'd like, but the requirement is for a minimum of one item per category.

Categories 1 through 5: Since this is a SEW CRAFTYâ„¢ SWAP, your items will be sewing and craft-related. MAKE SURE AT LEAST 2 OF YOUR ITEMS ARE FABRIC--either 2 Fat quarters or 1 Fat quarter and 2 fat eighths, chosen to match 2 of the categories above.

Other sewing-related but non-fabric items you might send are buttons, ribbons, threads, appliques, small sewing items, pincushions, patterns, magazines, small handmade items, and such. See "Ideas" for examples. The note and the treat are of course non-sewing items, and the wild card free choice can be another fat quarter of fabric, or anything sewing or craft-related, based on your partner's profile!

If you send ribbon for one of the categories, please send a minimum of one yard.

Category 6: Since we all love getting little treats, this is a small item that is edible, drinkable, or usable, such as a small candy, a tea bag, a colorful gel pen, an extra fat quarter, package of rick rack or bias tape, sewing notion, etc. It does not have to be sewing or craft-related, and it can be very small. You can follow your assigned partner's profile for ideas or preferences, or if none are listed, simply choose something you might enjoy.

Category 7: Please send a note enclosed in your package with the item identified for each category. Please include your Swap-Bot name so your partner knows who to rate and to whom to say "thanks!"

IDEAS: Here are examples of packages you might assemble for your partner for the LITTLE SCOTTIE DOGS SEW CRAFTYâ„¢ SWAP--

Example A: a fat quarter of fabric with Scottie dogs on it for #1, 1 fat eighth green and navy plaid fabric and 1 fat eighth of red and black plaid fabric for #2, a package of Scottie dog buttons for #3, a Mary Engelbreit book, journal, or magazine for #4, a Scottie dog pattern for #5, a package of dark chocolate for #6, and of course your note for #7.
Example B: a package of Scottie dog buttons for #1, a fat quarter of plaid fabric for #2, a yard of black or red ribbon for #3, a fat quarter of Mary Engelbreit fabric for #4, a small Scottie stuffie* for #5, a special craft goodie based on your partner's profile for #6, and of course your note for #7.
Example C: a Scottie dog stuffie* for #1, a yard of plaid ribbon for #2, a fat eighth of black and a fat eighth of red fabric for #3, a Mary Engelbreit pattern for #4, a fat quarter of black and white dog bone fabric for #5, packets of coffee, tea, or hot cocoa for #6, and of course your note for #7.

*If you make a Scottie dog stuffie for your partner, it can be a stuffed fabric "profile" that hangs from an attached ribbon like an ornament, or the kind of little stuffed toy with 4 legs that can stand all on its own. Make it out of felt, calico, plaid, flannel, corduroy, black, red, brown, striped, polka-dotted, white, or whatever you'd like. Just make it nice!

As you can see, you can be very creative with your package! Think of it as assembling a small "gift basket" for your partner, centered around the theme, with each category represented. (No, you don't have to package it up in a basket.) There is no set dollar amount for this swap, but please send nice items that you would like to receive. You can check your partner’s profile for likes, dislikes, and faves, and you can email them for ideas or preferences; you can follow your own creative ideas as well. You can list an idea or preference below in the comment section, but please, don't be too picky. If your partner has followed the swap requirements as listed above, please rate them accordingly.

For hearts, of course, you can send extra goodies, or perhaps tuck everything into a basket, or small handmade tote bag if you'd like. Or send extra fabric, ribbon, buttons, notions or treats. But this is optional. The only requirements are as listed above.

As always, I allow high quality swappers only. Because of past swap hosting experience, I do not allow newbies in my swaps. I'm sorry. If you are new, go, get experience, and watch for a later SEW CRAFTYâ„¢ SWAP! There are lots more coming throughout 2008! Some of them are already posted, so be sure to sign up once your swapping history is excellent.

ALSO, be sure to check out my separate swaps for LUCK O'THE IRISH-- SEW CRAFTYâ„¢SWAP #6, AGE OF AQUARIUS-- SEW CRAFTYâ„¢SWAP #5, FABRIC COASTERS, 6-INCH/153mm FABRIC SQUARES, FAIRY QUILTS, and GIFTS FOR MY HOUSE FAIRY! I will be hosting lots of these swaps throughout 2008!

Future themes for my SEW CRAFTYâ„¢ SWAPs will include specific COLOR MEâ„¢ themes, Luck O'The Irish, Scottie Dogs, Seeing Spots, fruit, ocean/nautical/lighthouses, back to school, hearts and valentines, spring, summer, autumn, winter, coffee/tea, brights, pastels, retro kitchen, My Fairy Godmother, For the Birds, etc.

DUE TO POSTAGE COSTS, for now this swap is US only. So far, only one person has requested an international swap. Please message me directly if you want me to host an international version. Many of my other swaps ARE international, though, so there's always that option. Be sure and check them out.

AS ALWAYS, BE SURE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE. If my instructions are not clear, just send me a private message and I'll clarify. And most of all, HAVE FUN! HAPPY SWAPPING!

Rats. I wish you'd mentioned this was US-only at the top, I was all excited about doing it for a moment there. Oh well, good luck with it - it sounds fab!

If there is enough interest for international, I will be happy to host one. I've only had 2 requests, including yours, for international.
