Description:

Because I goofed on the US Version, I've created this second set for anyone to participate in. It will be running on the same timeline as the other to make it easier for me to keep track of.

Purchase or otherwise obtain a Composition book (the marble-looking black and white ones), and decorate it or cover it if you like. The reason I chose this is because they have nice big pages to write on, and if all the journals are the same the shipping costs will be similar for everyone. Plus there is so much you can do with them as far as altering or decorating if you chose.

On the first page write your name and the swap name and in the back write your address and a note to return the journal home to you when it is full. This will be a monthly swap. What you will do is find a recipe, anything at all, from something you make all the time to something you would love to try. Whatever you can think of. Write one recipe in the book with your name and swap name. Include a short little letter to your partner saying why you chose that recipe on a separate sheet of paper, and then mail off to your partner. Next month in a separate swap you will take that journal you received and write a recipe and pass it on. We will keep going as long as there is interest. Please only put in realistic and usable recipes, the point is for people to find cool new recipes to try out.

The fine print: Anyone is welcome to join who has a well filled out profile, newbies included with at least 5 mailed swaps completed. If you have 1's or 3's please make sure that they are explained somewhere in your profile or PM me and explain. Please don't flake, this is someone else's recipe book you've got, after all.

When you get your partner's book, send them a PM to let them know who has it. It's for courtesy and it's fun to know where your book is in its travels.

You will have until March 7th to sign up, and then a few weeks to send. If there are any questions, please ask.

Love it!! Hope more people will join, the US version has many people in it, and that's more fun...!!!! And I think it would be nice to have American recipes as well.. Can't you just mix the whole thing up to 1 swap?? :-)

LINBUR0100 03/ 2/2012 #

@beijltje I am an American and am joining this one. The reason it can't be only one swap is because not everyone is willing to risk the cost of International postage. But there is nothing prohibiting those of us who are willing to do so from signing up for this version. :-)

O I would like to sign in for this swap but I realy don't know where I could purchase a Composition book (the marble-looking black and white ones). Please can some-one give me the measures and the weight of that book so perhaps I can buy a semilar one. Many thanks in advanced.

@linbur0100 Cool!! Saw other nationalities as well, so all will be alright :-)

Hi Engelenvrouwtje!

I did answer this in the American one when I asked you to sign up for this one, but here are the measurements again:

"They are roughly...21.59x27.94cm and about 0.37kg before decorating."

As long as it has a stiff back, it should be all right to mail. Internationally, this can be an issue.

But the first recipe I will write to myself then, since it is my book which will return to me in the end??

Yes
