Zentangle a Rubber Duck

Haha I love this idea! I'm in! Watching for now but I will be joining this swap. How fun and I love rubber duckies and Zentangling!

Any rules on the size of the rubber duckie? There may be other sizes too, but the ones I've seen are 1 inch, 2 inches, or 5 inches high.

I am thinking the typical size you think of when you think rubber duckie, which would be about 5in, thank you for noticing that.

I got mine done while watchin tv last night!!! Can't wait!!

Hi again Faun00! Well, I have a 5 inch rubber duck that I've owned for quite some time (12ish years), so I always assumed that must be one of the standard sizes. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case! I'm having trouble finding a duck that is anywhere between 3.5 inches and about 9 inches in height. I even sent and email to squeakyducks.com (they sell 600+ different rubber ducks and related items) and got this response:

"Unfortunately, the 5" - 6" size is hard to come by. The Happy Duck is about 3.5" high and probably isn't what you're looking for. We do have a 9" high duck which is our Big Daddy duck, but that may be too large for your needs."

So, where are y'all finding your ducks? :)

PS - love how the guy who responded to me takes my "needs" for a rubber duck of a certain size so seriously. That sentence about the Big Daddy duck totally makes me chuckle.

That is funny. :) I am going to get mine today, I will measure it but any typical size should do, it just shouldn't be the mini ducks as that would not be fair to your partner. I am going to the Dollar Store(Dollar Tree) and if they don't have them then I will hit up Wal-Mart.

Okay so I went to the store today to find my rubber duck. I edited the picture on the swap page( Sorry it's sideways, that's my cellphone for you) I am holding the Duck in my hand to give you an idea of the size. I could not find one at the dollar store. I went to walmart and wouldn't you know I could only find one and it happened to be pink, so pink will have to do. Good news is it only cost 97 cents.

Also in looking at my duck there should be no problem in writing your name and username and whatever of the details you want to put on the bottom of your duck.

So I have a question. Do u all zentangle in black or color??

I got mine yesterday at Walmart. It's colored and is partially decorated, should be fun making one up.

I hit pay dirt for Rubber Ducks at K-Mart of all places. In a variety of colors, too! Can't wait to do this swap!!

Bought mine at Walmart... look in baby section. The brand name is "Infantino". They have several Colorado as well as some holiday dressed ducks. Paid 97¢ for 1 and I'm thinking of getting another to decorate and keep for myself.

I worked on mine last night, she's almost done... just need to add a finishing touch.
