The main idea is borrowed from @catsandscales who has kindly allowed me to add some of my own adjustments to her original swap. You might want to check that out, too (notice it's a group swap, though!). :) So... this swap is for the people who are interested in geography and other cultures and would love to learn more in a rather easy way, by getting to know what the flag - an important each country's (state's, region's, etc.) attribute - means historically. What you'll need to do is, send each of your 2 partners a little something that has your country's (...) flag as the main subject on it (that could be a postcard, your taken photo, some souvenir (fridge magnet, perhaps?), a mini flag, something you've crafted neatly?), just make sure it's a high quality thing! Yet nothing too pricey for this one. :) Now, the teaching part - you'll have to tell your partners about your flag's origin, explain why exactly those colours, images, shapes were chosen, what their meaning is. Try to make your message both informative and interesting. ;) Since there is more than one partner you'll have I'm allowing only ONE person for EACH FLAG here. I don't want anybody to learn once again about their native land nor to get two partners with the same flag by accident. Thus, the rule of "first come, first served" works in this swap. But please, leave a comment below stating which country you're from (or whatever else you represent), otherwise, the first person from your country (or region, or ...) who writes a comment after all will be counted instead of you. All's clear? Everyone can join as long as the flag you'll share with us is not yet on the list (and you meet other requirements). I'd say that opens a lot of new doors. ;) Happy learning then! In short:
Taken flags of: Lithuania, Australia, United States (+ Arkansas), Canada, Puerto Rico, Slovenia, United Kingdom, Wales, Malaysia, Singapore. P.S. It's the first time I host a swap, so all and any ideas and advices about what this swap still lacks or something are very welcome. :) |
