**This swap is hosted by @goobebox ** I am just starting the 2nd round since the first one filled up so quickly. Once we get to 4, this round will close. We can start yet another round if anyone is interested. 'I've always wanted to do a round-robin mail art swap! I've seen it done before on a postcard' here. Front of the postcard - the arty part - Each person takes a blank postcard and divides the front into 4 STRIPS (where the mail art will go). The 1st sender decorates/paints/collages one strip on the front of their card, leaving the other 3 spaces blank. Back of the postcard - address side- The back of the postcard will have the "message" part divided into 4 as well, giving a space for each participant to write a message, explain their art, etc. We will write the address of the 1st person we're sending to in the regular spot. The 2nd person to receive will paste the 3rd person's name & address over that; and the 3rd & 4th will do the same. New stamps will have to be put on top of the cancelled ones (unless some of the participants re-send in clear plastic). This is okay as long as you can still see both sides of the postcard. The card will be mailed "naked" throughout. The first person you send to will do their mail art in the second strip on the front and paste the address of the third participant over their address on the back, affix new stamp(s) over the cancelled stamps and send it on its way. The third and fourth participants similarly fill in the postcard. By the time the fourth participant gets the card, 3 strips will be filled. This person finishes the mail art piece by adding the last strip of art in the last available space and return it to the original sender. You get your postcard back! When it arrives, you get to see how your postcard has evolved... Since we're using postcards, 4 is a manageable number & gives each participant some room to put their art. If more than 4 people join, I'll create another (identical) swap before assigning partners (and pm you to let you know which swap you're in). We'll make it work somehow! I will email the order in which we will swap the postcards to each person. At the end of it, each person will have a collaborative art piece made by people from different places! Each person will rate the other 3 participants and be rated by them. NOTE: The send-by dates will be adjusted as necessary to allow for send times. Here are some examples: Linky The fine print: Usual group swap rules apply. You must have at least 5 completed type 3 swaps, no recent 1's or 3's (if you feel you have been rated unfairly, and have tried to resolve the problem, PM me and we can work it out). I reserve the right to ban anyone I think might be a problem, and since this is a long term commitment, please sign up only if you can follow through. A little note about decorating: Do not cover up the collage done by the previous person, but do make sure you've filled in your strip completely. Make/alter 1 postcard according to instructions. 3 partners each; decorating a total of 4 postcards, including your own, when finished Any questions, please feel free to PM me. Also: Whenever you receive a card, please post in the comments section that you have it so we can trace the journey of each card! |
