QnT Hand Embroidered Butterfly Blocks #7 red blue July 8 thru July 31.13 One Red butterfly and one Blue butterfly on white background Let’s start a collection of embroidered butterflies during this year of the butterfly! You might want to put these blocks all on one quilt or use each on a different project. I love butterflies and hand embroidered butterflies are some of my favorites! --one partner each month --one 6 ½†(or larger) embroidered butterfly block One partner should receive from you a block that is at least 6 ½ inches square and has at least one butterfly on it. Blocks should be on plain white background or on white on white print background. You may add other things with your butterfly as long as you have at least one butterfly on each block and only use the color options for that month. Feel free to make multiple butterflies on one block. Be sure to fill up as much of the 6 ½†block as possible leaving at least a ¼†seam allowance around the outside. July = one red butterfly, and one blue butterfly on a white background (two butterflies on one block) August = a multi-colored butterfly or butterflies (this block can be as many colors as you want and you can put as many butterflies on the block as you can get) September = teal, aqua or turquoise or all three on one block (you may make the butterfly all one color or a combo of all three colors) October = orange and or peach and or cream butterfly (you may use one or all three colors on this block) November = black butterfly December = red, green, blue and gold butterfly (be sure to use all four colors in some way on the block – either one red, one green, one blue and one gold butterfly, or a combination of all four on one butterfly) Enjoy! |
