Hello all! Welcome to the Journal Swap!

Here's how this swap works. Get some kind of journal like a composition book or other journal (nothing too small please) that you can fill out over a month. You can do whatever you want in it just make sure you fill it with stories, journal entries, collages, art, recipes, whatever you want. Your goal should be to fill a page or a couple of pages every day. Do not join this swap unless you can commit to at least doing an entry every couple of days, preferably every day but we all know life happens.

IMPORTANT: Each entry should be something of substance. A few stickers on a page doesn't count. A FEW SENTENCES ON A PAGE AND NOTHING ELSE DOES NOT COUNT! Please put some thought and work into this so that your partner receives something that they will enjoy. Do not send a journal you have made previously and only join this swap if you can commit yourself to it throughout the month.

If something does happen and you are unable to finish or have a chunk of time missing, be prepared to send what you have and message your partner. Because this is an involved swap, it is very hard for me to angel. I will consider it on a case by case basis but I if an issue arises, partners should communicate with each other and work it out together.

This swap will start on February 1st and end on February 28th. So you should fill up the journal throughout February and mail it by March 8th.

Since this is a long term swap, I am not opening it to anyone with 3 or 1 rating within the last 6 months. (If you would like to be considered please message me with details on a low rating.) Also, no newbies. You must have participated in at least one other type 3 swap.

Keep in mind that you want a nice, well thought out journal and full journal in this swap so don't send anything less than that out. When you receive your journal, rate it on how well it is filled out, not necessarily if what is in it is completely tailored to your tastes. However, when putting your journal together it would be considerate to at least make it somewhat enjoyable for your partner.

Any questions, message me!

Do I write a diary entery and decorate everyday? How many enteries?

You can do whatever you want for an entry as long as it is more than a few sentences or stickers. Put thought and effort into it. The idea is to try to do something everyday. Some people wrote a diary entry, do art, or other journal ideas. There is no right or wrong answer as long as you put effort into it. Send something you'd be happy to receive.

Would a 8.25" X 5.7" book be considered too small?

justme2905 12/17/2017 #

I have a composition note book with a 100 pages. Would I have to write something on all pages or can 2 or 3 pages everyday and leave the rest blank for whoever get my journal.

ladyaduial 12/17/2017 #

@DixieDiane I think that's fine. Just no pocket journals; you know, the really tiny ones.

DixieDiane 12/17/2017 #

Ok thank you

@justme2905 - I glue 2 pages together to make the pages sturdier. That makes a 100 page journal down to 50.

Twizzle 01/27/2018 #

Me too, @institches , comp book paper is so flimsy especially if you want to paint or glue things to it.

Good luck and have fun this month creating your journals!

Halfway through the month with this swap! How exciting! Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!

Twizzle 02/24/2018 #

My journal has a lot more pages than days in the month. There's something for every day, but the journal could fit another month's worth in it. Is that a problem?

ladyaduial 02/28/2018 #

@Twizzle some journals are impossible to fill in a month. As long as you've been diligent about entries this month it's fine.

It's time to wrap up your journals and send them out!
