Description:

What would you do if you had $1,000,000.00? Would you buy a house? A tree fort for your yard? Maybe a fur coat, but not a real fur coat, that's cruel. Or would you just stock up on Kraft macaroni and cheese? *

Tell your partner what you would do with a million dollars (€751,823.171, ¥117,785,630.1, $A1,248,439.451, £510,412.413, $Can1,157,900.587, etc...). You can write a letter, make an ATC, create a song of your own, or any other creative way you can think of to express your wishes for all that money.

This is an international swap.

*With kudos to the great Barenaked Ladies.

If I Had $1,000,000 is by the Barenaked Ladies, not They Might Be Giants... couldn't let my Toronto, Canada boys go uncredited!

PostMuse 03/21/2007 #

Fixed! Thank you for the credit :-) I always, always, always get those two bands mixed up.

user6613 03/21/2007 #

I forgive you ;-)

I'd only stock up on Kraft Dinner and Cheese if it had really expensive ketchup on it. Dijon Ketchup.

LOL! I'm originally from the Toronto area too. I know all the words to that song! :)

By the way, nobody down here in the States eats ketchup on their Kraft Dinner. They all think it's weird. I think, what's the point if there's no ketchup on it! But I guess this isn't the place for that discussion. :)

Oh, I love this kind of chit-chat in swap threads :-)

I heard the song on the way home from dinner tonight and that's when I thought of the swap idea.

No emus, please. But a monkey would be fun.

I use this song to teach my ESL class...Plus I've been a fan of BNL since they first released their indie CASSETTE, more years ago than I want to remember! So how could I resist?

As long as I don't have to wear a green dress.

PostMuse 03/21/2007 #

At least not a real green dress, that would be cruel.

I don't think I will sign up for this one but you guys are fun :) AND "I'd be rich!"

EmilyBemily 03/22/2007 #

I've been to 2 BNL concerts (so far) and just LOVE them. They're so much fun. I suppose it's the crushes I have on all of them that brings me back. :)

Hey, TexasQuilter1, I'm in Wisconsin, and I'll have you know that I used to eat ketchup on my "Kraft dinner" all the time ~ I called it mac 'n' cheese though!!

Tee-hee, I LOVE this song!!

PostMuse 03/25/2007 #

I have changed the dates of this swap and they are much earlier than originally planned. I sent everyone an email, but sometimes Bcc mail gets filtered to spam/junk folders, so I hope to catch attention here, too.

I could cancel the swap and let someone else take over the hosting. Please message me if that is something you'd like to take on.

Okay, I have to get in on this -

Firstly, Toronto ROCKS!!! It's my most fave place on earth (maybe because I'm from Wisconsin and they're so similar).

Secondly, BNL ROCKS!!! I've also seen them twice, but would LOVE to do the cruise to the Caribbean with them - wouldn't that be a kick?!?

My husband is their #1 fan, and I also very much dig them. I like their "Maroon" album the best. "Stunt" is good too, plus all of their fun iTunes podcasts!

PostMuse 03/26/2007 #

I haven't been able to get the Million Dollar song out of my head for days :-) Probably need to go pull out one of their CDs and play it so something else will get stuck in my head.

I think I saw BNL in Boston years ago, at a free lunchtime concert in Government Center, but I went to so many of those that they have become a blur. I really miss the lunchtime concerts.

FarStarr 03/26/2007 #

Postmuse...if you listen to the CD you'll be stuck with "...postcards with chimpanzees, and everyone is addressed to me".....

PostMuse 03/26/2007 #

Oh, that is such a perfect song for me :-) But the one that is stuck in my head, and unfortunately added to my blue funk, is The Old Apartment. That song is so depressing. I'm off to put on something totally different... Rachid Taha... Arabic rock :-) His cover of Rock the Casbah is so much fun.

Current Torontonian piping in with BNL admiration :) I like their music a lot and I really like that they get involved in many, many charity type events! Looking forward to this swap, I love it :) Great idea, PostMuse! :):) Oh yes, and I would definately buy gourmet ketchup~ hehee
